Never considered PERSONAL messages to be an "error reporting" system (quite a few websites I check regularly have one of those), but if that solution suits you, prepare to be spammed. ;)
Steams March user survey is out, Linux goes down!
30 Mar 2013 at 10:20 am UTC
More in detail :
I assume the 0.48 you're talking about are those:
Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS 64 bit 0.01% -0.32%
Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS 0.01% -0.16%
But they HAVEN'T gone down. It's just a bit more fragmentation and updates:
Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS 64 bit 0.01% -0.32%
|
v
Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit 0.47% +0.04%
Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 64 bit 0.28% +0.28%
Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS 0.01% -0.16%
|
v
Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 0.16% +0.16%
It's a simple TRANSFER of 0.48. So WHERE are the remaining linux players?
(PS: wow, nifty copy/paste bug there :D)

Quoting: liamdaweTwo versions of Ubuntu have a total of -0.48% together. That's one reason. So with the other additions it just can't add up this time. That looks like some pretty bogus stuff. 0.48 amounts to a population well above most major distros represented here apart from Ubuntu; and equal to a quarter of the whole represented gaming population. I say bulldung, seriously. That single digit discredits the rest (of the survey, not of the article). :)

Ah, that explains it.
Well it is and isn't a shame. It helps GOL put better articles on the front page, for one.
Plus it's not like there's any critique about Liam's or your sense of aesthetics when it comes to literacy or the relevance of any article (as opposed to some people on Reddit) :)
But yeah, a more discrete, "official" way to file such things could be pretty cool. Definitely. :)

Nope, you weren't and aren't...
the now open source RPG game reminiscent of early Final Fantasy games has just hit it's 2.0 release!
-> the RPG game has hit it's 2.0 release!
-> the girl has just hit her boyfriend
-> "his/her for it"
-> "its 2.0 release".
:D

Aaaah, look:
"I, the open source game, have hit MY 2.0 release" -> ITS
"I, the open source game, have hit I'M 2.0 release" "I, the open source game, have hit I HAVE 2.0 release" -> IT'S
Which one ? :)

To those not having played/finished it yet: it IS a pretty nifty game, if a bit lacking in the... literary department.
Some parts are outright infuriating though - not gonna spoil it but you'll probably find out soon enough if you give it a go. If you find yourself stuck, there's a walkthrough on the Nooskewl website that can save your sanity.
PS: Also, ITS, not IT'S. And "open source source". ;)

For now it doesn't run on my machine either, I get a crash at startup (and apparently I'm not the only one).

Quoting: mentoriousDoesn't workOddly enough, I had to reinstall the whole of Steam to get it to properly download (maybe due to the switch from ~/.Steam to ~/.local/share/Steam ?).
Quotefailed to start game (missing executables)
any ideas? I tried reinstalling but still no effect.

It runs on my Arch with GTX 650, with a "slightly" inconvenient bug: it segfaults as soon as I try to open the Kingdom view.
Now to wait for a fix. Dang. I was so eager to play it again. :/
