I have been on Wayland since 5.21 and I got a triple monitor setup and has been working fine for me since then.

Quoting: harreHow does it fare with gaming? Any tweaks and hacks, or does it just work out of the box with Wayland. I'm on xfce at the moment but I'm interested to try it out after using KDE plasma on steam deck without any issues. For me it works perfectly for gaming. Much better then X11. Mostly because VRR works and with Plasma 6 you can also allow screen tearing if you like that.

Yesterday, I upgraded my Arch system without encountering any major issues, save for a script and a KWin effect that ceased functioning due to needing updates.
However, despite the upgrade, HDR detection remains elusive on my LG OLED. This may be attributed to the connection setup: my TV is linked to the receiver (which supports HDR) and then connected to my PC. I plan to test if connecting the TV directly will reveal the HDR option.
Interestingly, Windows has also decided to cease HDR functionality on my setup, and my Xbox insists there's no DolbyVision compatibility, despite its presence (albeit limited to 4k 30Hz, given my LG OLED's vintage from 2017).
Nevertheless, the upgrade has been commendable. While not dramatically different visually, there's a subtle enhancement overall. Dolphin, in particular, looks stunning without the framing.

Steam really should add a feature where the user can easily pick a older version.
I have been seeing it too many times the last few years where old games suddenly get a shitty launcher added or, like in this case, a DRM added/replaced that breaks a game that was working fine before.
We can hope.

Definitely going to play it when it comes out, but man, for an UE5 game, or just a recent game in general, it looks very ugly so far. It's only slightly better visually versus Smite 1.

I had Cyberpunk preordered well over a year before release, and I still have yet to play it.
Initially I decided to wait for them to patch the game considering all the issues it had, and then I didn't had the need to play the game since other games and stuff kept me occupied.
But I guess next week is the perfect time to finally start my Cyberpunk journey!
Luckily, I wasn't hyped for the game, so I had no urge to play it directly at release.

The Last of Us on Steam Deck is not great

But that remake is a exception these day's. The default release method of most game developers is launching a broken mess and then we have to wait and hope for it to get fixed.

Quoting: KlaasWhen was the last big release where everything worked on release? You spend more money and are rewarded with a miserable experience.I would say the Resident Evil 4 remake is a perfect release. That game has amazing performance and, as far as I could tell, no bugs or other game breaking issues.

If they would have been a public traded company the Steam we now know would be completely different (for the worse) and Linux and Steam Deck would not be a thing.

Quoting: InhaleOblivionThey deserve all the success they have. What's really great is after all this time they have wisely not become a publicly traded company. Who would then be fully beholden and have a fiduciary responsibility of growth and ultimately profit to their shareholders.Yup. Because they are private (and because good people work there), they can do whatever they want.

I'm now officially converted to the RGB LED religion and OpenRGB is amazing

I try to avoid RGB wherever I can.
I am the person that either has no RGB or all RGB. I did looked at the time of my PC build at RGB pieces, but the extra money just for the RGB bit's was not worth it, so I tried to avoid it as much as I could.
Unfortunately my MOBO and GPU still got RGB but luckily I was able to turn that off.
