Quoting: kaktuspalmeIt was remade as Dune 2000. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNl0hY_h0ws [External Link] And in this case, OpenRA supports it, and it's been ported to many platforms. Still one of the great RTS games as well.Quoting: slaapliedjeHa, I'm fairly terrible at RTS games. Granted I also triggered some people in a discussion recently by saying most RTS games are pretty much a carbon copy of Dune II with different graphics slapped on. So many got all offended by that statement. Was kind of hilarious.Well I don't know Dune II but yes many Games in RTS are similiar. But I think that applies to every genre. Many Shooters are very similiar. Many Jump 'n' Runs are very similiar. It applies to all sorts of things in life. As soon as you are interested only then you see and value the differences. It's the same with Music for example. For non Rock listeners it all sounds the same for Fans there are huge differences. I could go on and on.
So to me, that statement is not offending, it's just natural that for an outsider it looks very similiar and for fans there's "huge" differences.

Quoting: PhlebiacAgreed! I don't know why it gets everyone riled up. They always come back with every FPS is just reskinned Doom. Ignoring the fact that engines keep getting better and better to be able to habdle more realistic graphics.Quoting: slaapliedjemost RTS games are pretty much a carbon copy of Dune II with different graphics slapped onThat should be taken as a compliment, to be as good as Dune II. ;-)

I was trying to be a miser about it and not be a supporter but you keep bringing good news about RTS games, first Age of Darkness, now this. I can't take this anymore.
Now I'm not sure if Microsoft deserve my money but certainly you do.
Thank you.

Sweet! I have the second edition one where you can put the two boards together... and then ended up not having a table wide enough to play it! Table is long enough, just not wide enough...

Quoting: Liam DaweAll ProtonDB reports are from before this Proton Experimental update. As the article states, it worked fine on NVIDIA here.Sweet, may have to install it under Linux now to play. Maybe it'll be more stable... it crashed hard on me in the middle of a game on Windows 10.

This seems just as likely the plot of a Sopranos episode than an old West movie.

Is it only for games that are native (or as the case may be has the appropriate dosbox emulation installers)? Would be aweosome to integrate Proton into it. Which I think is the one downside I have found with Lutris. I should try it out and see which I like more.

Quoting: dubigrasuNice! I have some rechargeable batteries that are 100% smooth on the bottom, as opposed to most batteries that have some sort of lip/wrinkle. They are a pain to get out of the SC.Quoting: Mohandevir...being forced to change the batteries, in my SC is the part I hate the most. I broke one of the "ejector sticks" in one of them... I can still change the batteries, but I'm in for a hell of a fight. :wink:That is true, some batteries are slightly larger and hard to take out.
I do this to avoid fighting with them:
You just pull them out with the ribbon.

Quoting: zen_xenoOh no, I'd much rather have to order specific batteries, and have to pull apart the controller to replace the rechargeable battery, that may or may not work correctly... like my PS3 controllers. I fortunately ordered 3 batteries, only two of which seemed to actually hold a charge...Quoting: MalYou mean you don't prefer a proprietary offer for something that already has a standardized solution? I for one don't want to be able to go to my nearest store to solve the most common problem in all of consumer electronics, I want to order a special product™. But even better would be if the battery is sealed inside the device, then all I need to do is throw the whole thing away and order a new one!Quoting: randylThe only big drawback to the current base Xbox controller for Windows is that it uses AA batteries instead of a self-contained rechargeable.Odd. That's the main reason why I don't like ds.
LOL seriously, I love that Valve used AA batteries in the Steam controller - I order a 20 pack of AA rechargeable every few years. Its just a fact of life that rechargeable batteries wear out over time, why would anyone want to use a proprietary power source instead of a standard one? Makes no sense.
I'm glad its been indicated that the power pack in the Deck should be replaceable, with a little effort.
