ZeniMax are flexing their legal muscles towards DoomRL

Quoting: liamdaweThat effectively shuts it down. The entire project is entirely based around Doom as a fan project.
Not really. In the short term just have to remove the meta-tags, images and references, in the long term change the name of it. Just like Tales of Middle Earth became Tales of Maj'Eyal.

What one game would blow your mind if it came to Linux & SteamOS?

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered

I'd settle for all the Batman Arkham games, all the Telltale games and Spelunky.

For episodic games will they be eligible if the last episode released in 2016 or the first episode?

Saints Row IV gets Steam Workshop support for Windows, they are hoping to update the Linux version too

Hopefully they fix the cross platform multiplayer in the same update.

Quoting: Cheesenessbut I'll continue to do whatever I can to help along the way.
Do you have a Patreon? I would be willing to chip in a few bucks a month in exchange for all you do in making Linux gaming better, some other folk may too.

Daedalus is another space sci-fi adventure game needing help on Kickstarter, but it's a little iffy

My interpretation of the situation going on what the developer has said on the Steam community: they plan to be releasing the first part of the first game soon or in the next few weeks; the timing of this Kickstarter is such that it will complete and they will get funds for further development after that release has happened.

I've checked in with the After Reset community on Steam fairly regularly over the last year or so. I don't think it's an out and out scam, I do think the developer is trying to build a game that is beyond the resources he has available (what's slated to release shortly for After Reset is the Prologue, i.e. less than a fifth of the planned game). Don't back this new project and expect to see tangible results anywhere close to the proposed deadlines.

Quoting: Crystal Daggersurely it looks like a sandbox but as @Kimyrielle said it seems to be more based on PVP.
Yep, it's the heavy emphasis on PVP which puts me off. Also they seem to be quite happy to let you buy stuff that other players can then loot. I'll probably buy it at some point just to show support but I doubt I'll put enough time into it to become a useful member of a guild.

Quoting: Crystal DaggerI didn't want to make a comparison expecting an UO successor because I've got too many dissapointments from that *coughs* Shroud Of The Avatar *coughs*
If you've not checked it out for a while there are some big changes coming to Shroud with today's update (about 6 hours from now). The quest/story stuff is still not complete but a lot of positive feedback for the changes on the forums.

The latest Steam Client Beta has sorta broken downloads and updates for some Linux users

Quoting: Mountain ManThis would be one of the many reasons Valve does not recommend people use the beta version if you want stability.
And yet they explicitly recommended using the beta version if you have a Steam Controller.

On the Disk Write Error front: I got this error when there was a broken symlink in a game directory. Might be worth checking your Steam folder for a similar issue.

'The Little Acre', a great looking adventure game with hand-drawn animations releases next month

I played a demo of this at EGX, dev confirmed to me then it would be coming to Linux. The artwork really is excellent and the demo played very well.
