Valve have released the CAD geometry for the Steam Controller

Quoting: ElectricPrismI wanna see two joysticks instead of pads if that's possible with the circuit board.
Also known as an Xbox 360 gamepad.

Me? I'd rather see Valve ditch the analog stick entirely and replace it with four additional buttons. The touch pads are awesome. I never want to use a dual analog stick controller again.

Quoting: Linux LoverThis is cool. I would love for someone to make a 6-button layout on the front & perhaps a D-pad in the vein of the old Sega Saturn/Genesis pads if possible since I play a lot of street fighter. In any outcome, I think only good can come from this.
Unless they also release the software and drivers into the public domain, it's unlikely you're going to see any radical change to the current control layout.

Quoting: afettouhiAnybody else notice that the StramOS icon is gone Dying Light?
Yeah. Weird. It's showing as Windows-only.

So how do you actually disable chromatic aberration? Steam downloaded a patch, but I'm not seeing an option for disabling it. :p

Edit: Never mind... apparently that was another update that downloaded? I'm still on version 1.11.0 for whatever reason.

Edit 2: Verified the local files, and that apparently jump-started the update.

Like any effect, it depends on the implementation. I quite like motion blur in Valve's Source Engine games. It's subtle and looks really cool. The motion blur in Dying Light, on the other hand, creates nothing but visual noise, and I immediately turned it off. Chromatic aberration could probably be really effective, too, but Techland over did it.

Being allowed to disable another post-processing effect could also lead to a small performance increase. I know disabling film grain and motion blur smoothed performance for me.

Offworld Trading Company looks like it may come to Linux

It's about time Stardock started showing us some love. They said they would bring GalCiv 3 to Linux but obviously never did.

XCOM 2 patched for Linux, and Anarchy’s Children DLC now available

Rolled back to 358.16, and that solved it. The warning message is gone, and the game runs smooth as silk again. Actually, the performance is noticeably improved, so the patch definitely did something. Of course I'm still getting my teeth kicked in, but that's apparently because I suck at the game.

I installed 364.12, and I'm getting an "unsupported driver" warning when starting XCOM 2. The game still works, but I did notice some slight hitching that wasn't there before. It could be due to the patch, but I'm rolling back to 358.16 for now.

Cities: Skylines updated with new map tools and tons of fixes

Quoting: Mountain ManThe worst part is that the developers aren't even willing to admit that there's a performance issue in the Linux version.
Indeed, bit of a shame. They stopped replying to me once I told them there was an issue.
To be fair, it is possible that the cause of the bad performance on Linux depends solely on Unity engine, and Colossal Order cannot do that much about that. Still, it sucks.
Also, from benchmark data so far, it seems to be strongly dependent on CPU rather than GPU.
Based on their participation in some of the threads on the official forums, I'm not even sure they looked into the matter sufficiently to even determine the source of the problem. They basically said, "Working as intended," and left it at that.

Here are two of the main threads that I followed around the time of release:
