Quoting: Perkeleen_VittupääDistrohopping ended here on this distro. Nvidia-driver installation (as far as i remember) was a world of pain everywhere else.I've never had a problem installing nvidia drivers on Kubuntu. Just open the driver manager, click, and you're done.
Thanks Phil and the whole Manjaro crew!

One of my earliest forays into Linux was around 2000 with a version of Red Hat that was included with a book I checked out from the library.

Although now that I've actually tested it, it seems that spek is extremely slow to start and doesn't even work (it says "The file contains no audio streams" when I know that's false). So hooray for snap? :p

Quoting: CatKillerYes, but my understanding is that will also get rid of your ability to easily install certain software packages. In my case, I use spek to analyze audio files, but it can only be installed through snap now.Quoting: eldakingI'll wait a bit anyway and probably will update to 20.04 if it isn't too obnoxious to avoid snaps for most things, or if at least it works well.sudo apt purge snapdwill get rid of snaps entirely. Easy enough.

Just updated my Kubuntu box. Smooth sailing as usual. I have never had a problem upgrading Kubuntu in the many years I've used it. It always just works.

Great for us Linux geeks, but unfortunately, we are still a long, long ways from giving anybody who isn't already vested in Linux a reason to choose it over Windows, or even OSX.

Bought this for the Switch last year. It's a very good game, but I'm not sure I want to double-dip.

Quoting: NanobangMy first impression is GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! SANTA GOD LOVES ME!!!!!I've always gotten that question during the extremely rare appearances the survey has made on my system in the past.
The second is to remember that a week or so ago, I had a Steam survey come up and --- just before it got my info --- it asked whether I used the range extender for the Steam controller USB dongle (I said "yes"). I thought it might be part of info gathering about maybe a new SC. Now it seems all but certain, with this news.

In my opinion, the Steam Controller is the best gamepad ever made. It's disappointing that it never caught on, but I suppose that's a consequence of Valve's almost nonexistent marketing.
