It's time to bug Feral Interactive about future port requests once again

Just give us Skyrim already, man. Or how about a native port of Doom 2016. Of course both of those are Bethesda games, so we're probably still out of luck.

Oh, and the Batman Arkham series, or at least the first two, which are the best ones in the series anyway.

Starship Titanic, a classic adventure game from 1998 is now on Linux

Correct about Starship Titanic. Incorrect about the Infocom text adventures. They're excellent, that is if you enjoy text adventures. They can be a bit of an acquired taste if you weren't of game-playing age when they were among the best games on the market.
... but I'm not sure Douglas Adams' game was among the better Infocom games. Weren't you supposed to
Spoiler, click me
rescue something like a fly from a dog in the beginning, so you could survive in a miniaturized spaceship attacked by the dog in the end
? This was stupid even by eighties' standards...

By the way, googling for the time I found you can legally play it for free now:

And by the way II: There are at least two new (professional) text adventures for Linux, Thaumistry and Hadean Lands.
Yes, some of the puzzles were not particularly intuitive, especially since Douglas Adams introduced the radical concept that the game could lie to you! But the Infocom games were still a much better showcase for Adams' talents than Starship Titanic.

I love Douglas Adams, but this game is waste of his talents, and your money.

FTL: Faster Than Light has a new patch to fix some lingering issues

Like most rogue-likes, I don't play FTL to beat it, I play it to see how many hilarious ways I can lose. One of my most memorable games was when my first jump took me next to a sun with an enemy nearby. I took massive damage from the sun and my opponent, but I eventually defeated him; of course, I had to warp out of there before I could repair or the sun would have destroyed my ship, but then my next jump brought me face to face with another foe who destroyed me in two shots. I thought it was hilarious.

I keep hoping Aspyr is able to improve Linux performance. The game is great fun, but graphic performance is dreadful.

I think this was the first game I purchased on Steam for Linux.

The 'GPD Win 2' could be an interesting device for Linux gaming on the go

Quoting: GustyGhostI would be embarrassed to be caught with such a device beyond the age of twelve. But maybe that's just me.
I'm 46, and I play my 3DS in public.

That said, this thing is way too expensive for what is essentially a woefully underpowered computer, only suitable for older games. You could buy a Nintendo Switch with all the trimmings and several games for the price of the GDP alone. I like the idea of portable PC gaming, but not at that price, and certainly not with those limitations.

The Talos Principle updated with Vulkan improvements, OpenGL fixes and more, plus some benchmarks

Quoting: tuubi
Quoting: g000hHowever, Microsoft are doing what they're best at - Monopolizing the market - They don't allow developers to use Vulkan on XBOX One platform, only DX12. So if you want to develop for Windows and XBOX, then you have to include DX12 support to get your game on XBOX.

One of the things that has irritated me about Microsoft for years is their anti-competitive practices. Would be great if the EU could sue them about it.
The European Commission has sued and fined Microsoft multiple times for abusing the de facto monopoly Windows holds on the desktop...
With as much money as Microsoft has, most fines amount to little more than a slap on the wrist. I wouldn't be surprised if they have payouts for lawsuits figured into their annual budget. Microsoft is willing to do whatever it takes to stay on top.

I didn't much care for the demo -- it struck me as a starkly humorless take on Portal -- but Croteam's Linux support is almost without peer, and I'm tempted to buy this game for that reason alone.
