I think there is also a non-significant portion who are PC gamers for the freedom, myself included. Maybe I have a chronic case of NIH-syndrome but as I've shifted from console to Windows, Windows to Linux I've realized that what I'm really chasing is freedom and total control over my own system.

Looks like they still need to iron out the process. Despite the issues, it's great that GOG are doing this because there are a bunch of folks who only discovered GOG after having built up a Steam library.

They really should follow the WINE Wrapping Commandments:

1. No game newer than four years old shall be ported with WINE.

2. Games still receiving updates and content shall not be ported with WINE.

3. WINE is not to be used to ship big budget, commercial releases.

4. Games of graphical fidelity which would set a modern GPU ablaze shall not be ported with WINE.

Okay I just pulled that out of my ass but I'm pretty sure this release violates at least one of those commandments.
