Lutris game manager gets a second Beta for version 0.5.9 with Epic Store support
8 Sep 2021 at 1:20 pm UTC
However, if I restart lutris after one of these failed attempts, I am somehow connected (yet the EGS section is not responding).
There's a bug report:
https://github.com/lutris/lutris/issues/3688 [External Link]
I imagine that this borked 'access_token' login status is what prevents Epic showing the library.
@ajgp
Lutris doesn't use Legendary for Epic support (like Heroic does), it uses the actual Epic windows client. From my understanding the client is installed with the very first Epic game you install, and kept there for the rest of the Epic library.
Just curious why they did that instead of using Legendary.

Quoting: benjamimgoisYes, I have this error as well. Tried several login ways (through epic/google/steam/etc), same error.Quoting: strycoreI also got into errors trying to login into EGS.Quoting: dubigrasuThe Epic Games section shows nothing though. The login went OK, I did a reload, but still nothing. You'll need an EGS install to run games but the login process and getting the library in lutris shouldn't require it.
The other sections (Humble, GOG/etc) are OK, the games are showing.
In console I get:
Failed to load EGS library: 'access_token'
EGS is not installed in Lutris
Do I need to manually install EGS in order to activate the Epic section?
Still looks like you're having an issue with the EGS token that is unrelated to the client itself.
Failed to connec to EGS (Status 400): {'errorCode': 'errors.com.epicgames.accountportal.parameter_required', 'message': 'Parameter "country" is required', 'correlationId': '14cbbff0-1053-11ec-a009-d7e40e9fd3fc'}

Quoting: slaapliedjeI am genuinely curious what running Steam for Windows brings us? Wine on top of wine kind of? Anyone know of any examples these days where it works better than Native Steam + Proton? Some games cannot be started through Proton, but work just fine through the Windows client. Has to do with the CEG DRM, where the Windows client is required to tailor the exec for your system. Apparently you can start the game through Lutris/Wine and once modified, move the exec to your Proton installation. Alas, when I tried that with FEAR 3, it didn't worked, so I just finished it on Lutris.

ARK: Survival Evolved releases on Stadia with a bunch more free games for Stadia Pro

The problems that I had with Darksiders II on Windows were indeed related to variations in fps, but at reasonable settings is still capable to stay well above 60. On Stadia though, the quality it runs at doesn't justify IMO the low fps. At times is a slideshow, is just miserable.
And even when games are locked at 30fps, is not the end of the world, ESO for example is also locked at 30 on Stadia but is, ugh...playable and consistent, while these two are just useless.
Now sure, for someone used with a 30fps locked console, you will have a higher tolerance to 15-20fps from time to time, but IMO whatever performance standards consoles might have, shouldn't apply to Stadia ports.
It seems to me that QA is going downhill on Stadia, they have proven initially that they can deliver high quality ports (Destiny and Division for example), but lately they seems to compromise more an more.

Quoting: F.UltraTrue.Quoting: dubigrasuNot impressed with the new additions, well, talking about ARK and Darksiders.Darksiders II was locked to 30fps on PS4 and going by the steam discussions it seems to have huge frame rate problems on Windows.
I can live somewhat with the ARK graphics while playing on a TV, but those 1 sec hangs from time to time, damn.
Darksiders looks OK, but both games are running at 30 FPS (or even less sometimes, to my eyes at least), which is ridiculous. I'm not a gazillion fps snob, but come on.
I don't think they're running any game through Proton/Wine/etc (though they do use DXVK), but sometimes I wish they did, because at least: a) some game would run better (ARK in this case) and b) less work and time required to get the games ready.
At this pace they'll be unable to deliver those 100 games in 2021 as they're promised. Not sure what's the hold up (porting time or publishing rights?) but it doesn't seem to be happening.

Damm, that sucks...
Also the placement seems a bit more inconvenient. Most of the reviewers are ignoring the pads, and I've seen only few seconds of someone using them, with the thumb forced down in an awkward and what seems to be an uncomfortable position for long sessions. On the SC the pad is placed perfectly (whereas on the deck the joystick is placed perfectly), less strain for the thumb, but imagine having the pad below that and twist your thumb to reach it.
Hope I'm worried for nothing though.

I'm looking at this guy who's doing a DIY of a steam deck, and (supposing that he got measurements right) the SC pads seems to be quite bigger then the new ones.

If he's right about it, this kinda sucks, as they are puny in size.

Quoting: CybolicWhere was that mentioned?Quoting: dubigrasu[...]I would've love to hear an opinion from someone heavily accustomed with the pads on the Steam Controller, are the new pads big enough? The SteamDeck pads are supposed to be the same width/height as the circular ones on the Steam Controller (in other words, the circle can fit inside the square) and those were pretty much the perfect size.

As trackballs they are good already.
Edit:
Ah, that's nice. My eyes were tempted to see the new pads as a bit smaller. That's good news for me.

Quoting: CybolicIf they were bigger, you'd need too much finger movementWell, in a sense that's what I'd like, less crammed. Even on my SC sometimes I feel the need to some extra space for finer movements, or less interruptions when you pan left-right the image. The range of the movement would be still dictated by the settings, you would just have some extra left-right-space to use or not.

Not entirely on topic, but what would I like to see though is bigger touchpads, and exactly like this, without making the black bezel smaller:
The size of the current touchpads kinda worries me. In the reviews everyone was talking about the joysticks, not much about the pads. I would've love to hear an opinion from someone heavily accustomed with the pads on the Steam Controller, are the new pads big enough?
