I'll add some details in a moment but this is what I get on SteamOS:
SteamOS Alchemist (kernel Linux steamos 3.10-5-amd64)
Windows 10 Pro
i7-4790K
16 GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 780 with
Linux Nvidia driver 367.27
Windows Nvidia driver 368.39
Demos were ran for 10 times each for both systems.
SteamOS BPM stands for the default SteamOS configuration with steamcompmgr, the others test were made in desktop mode (Gnome 3).
For the benchmark I used a different demo than the one mentioned in this article, more exactly because dang_valve mentioned that:
The more particles/models/etc. that are on-screen during the timedemo the better I expect Vulkan to do since that is when we tend to be come renderthread CPU bound on the other APIs (GL/DX9/DX11)
and recommended these two demos on Phoronix:

The one I used is "from the Global eSports Cup Finals"

Well, shitty/evil DS/Techland or not I'm not gonna burn any bridge for now.
I still have three awesome games from them, so not ready for the hate.
Just my opinion.

Don't have much time and I think I'll wait a while for things to settle down (with Dota itself & drivers) before doing a video.

Quoting: MohandevirQuoting: dubigrasuWell, the options in Dota are Exclusive Fullscreen, Windowed and Borderless Window. Not trying to impose anything, but is it possible for you to do a benchmark for Dota2 Vulkan? You are my favorite source when it comes to Linux/Windows benchmarks. You are doing an awesome job. :)

It might not be the problem, but I feel, too, that using a brand new GTX 1070-1080 may not give a fair portrait of Linux performances. Usually it requires a couple of driver's iterations to get it's full capacity.
Quoting: MohandevirI'm doing one now for my own curiosity, but not so extensive (with 4K and so on), just 1080. I might add a graph for it if you're curious, but video no.Quoting: dubigrasuWell, the options in Dota are Exclusive Fullscreen, Windowed and Borderless Window. Not trying to impose anything, but is it possible for you to do a benchmark for Dota2 Vulkan? Quoting: liamdaweTo the people asking about the fullscreen mode used, it was stated in the article:Maybe borderless windowed?
I spoke to the person who did it on twitter, he mentioned both Windows/Linux were done in borderless fullscreen mode.

I got this game reluctantly because of the bad reviews and expected this terrible experience as you say and well, I was pleasantly surprised.
It is definitely not a masterpiece or something I would recommend without hesitation, but terrible it is not. I'm having quite a fun with it so your experience (including widescreen issue) doesn't quite match mine.
I understand that you and many others don't like the game, but that doesn't make it a bad game for everyone else.

Quoting: TheGZeusTested the beta. Ran just fine on Intel Skylake Mesa drivers.Well, I disagree here.
It's a terrible game, but it runs well.
Got it cheap a couple years ago. Yech.
YECH.
It's just terrible. The only option for success is to cheese the awful, broken mechanics. The animations are terrible. Running it widescreen stretches the models. The acting is laughable.
Watch ProJared's video on this game instead of playing it, unless you love schlock.
