A new benchmark video shows Dota 2 with Vulkan performing better on Windows than Linux

Quoting: dubigrasuWell, the options in Dota are Exclusive Fullscreen, Windowed and Borderless Window.
Not trying to impose anything, but is it possible for you to do a benchmark for Dota2 Vulkan? You are my favorite source when it comes to Linux/Windows benchmarks. You are doing an awesome job. :)

It might not be the problem, but I feel, too, that using a brand new GTX 1070-1080 may not give a fair portrait of Linux performances. Usually it requires a couple of driver's iterations to get it's full capacity.

I'm doing one now for my own curiosity, but not so extensive (with 4K and so on), just 1080. I might add a graph for it if you're curious, but video no.
Don't have much time and I think I'll wait a while for things to settle down (with Dota itself & drivers) before doing a video.

Quoting: liamdaweTo the people asking about the fullscreen mode used, it was stated in the article:
I spoke to the person who did it on twitter, he mentioned both Windows/Linux were done in borderless fullscreen mode.
Maybe borderless windowed?

Quoting: TheGZeusTested the beta. Ran just fine on Intel Skylake Mesa drivers.

It's a terrible game, but it runs well.

Got it cheap a couple years ago. Yech.
YECH.

It's just terrible. The only option for success is to cheese the awful, broken mechanics. The animations are terrible. Running it widescreen stretches the models. The acting is laughable.

Watch ProJared's video on this game instead of playing it, unless you love schlock.
Well, I disagree here.
I got this game reluctantly because of the bad reviews and expected this terrible experience as you say and well, I was pleasantly surprised.
It is definitely not a masterpiece or something I would recommend without hesitation, but terrible it is not. I'm having quite a fun with it so your experience (including widescreen issue) doesn't quite match mine.

I understand that you and many others don't like the game, but that doesn't make it a bad game for everyone else.

Quoting: PangachatGreat patch! Now it's not even start on SteamOS, saved a few coins for me :D
I'm on SteamOS too and it works. Were you able to play before the patch?

Haven't tested much but in Shanty Town on a certain place/angle where previously I had 50 FPS I have now 66-68. The same FPS difference in other similar places (I kept the old build so I can test back and forth both builds).

According to Deep Silver the new editions of Dead Island are not coming to Linux

Here's hoping for those crossed wires because not having them on Linux (with these new graphics) would suck immensely for me.
I was planning to play those games again (played them on PS3) because they were both good.
I know that many/some gamers were disappointed by DI, but I was definitely not (really enjoyed the crafting part) and I really had a blast playing them.

For everyone ignoring these games because of negative reviews and so on; please don't. You need to play them and make your own mind, you might have a nice surprise.
