Two interesting things that Gabe mentioned in an interview were that a) the most expensive SKU was the most pre-ordered one (far more than the cheapest one), which might convince Valve to create more feature-rich models in the future, and b) the demand for the Deck was much more higher than they expected.

I think it was indeed PR speak (I personally believe that this is temporary and eventually they'll make it work), but it was just at the border of PR speak, and right behind/between the words they purposely left a hint of annoyed menace.

AFAIK it can only be used through Remote Play as a controller, not plugged in.
