Quoting: GuestDoes this mean Richard M Stallman will finally have a decent computer to work with?
The FSF already has an approved hardware list [External Link]; as to this new machine making it to that list, I suppose it depends whether it uses Libreboot.

In my fathomless ignorance, I look at the github repo [External Link]; and all I'm able to gather is that it's a kind of IO card. What does that say about the BIOS in these systems, though? Could someone knowledgeable take a look and comment?

The next update for the tricky biking game 'Descenders' is due on October 29th

The bike looks a little floaty in the trailer; I wonder how it plays in person. I'd love to have something like Trials natively on Linux.

Quoting: kirkgunThis game appeals to me, but I shouldn't bother since I only have keyboard/mouse. Is that correct?
I played it with KB/M as well. (Actually it was more confusing to me to try to do it with the controller.)

I also love this game.
It's like a 'spiritual successor' to a much simpler Apple ][ game, though the name eludes me now.

I hope so, that'd be great! Problem is no games or anything binary will work on it, but then again... open source computer! They didn't really say if that was going to go into laptops as well, did they?
Even if it's as functional as a Chromebook, that would be a huge deal; though as of right now, I believe only one RISC-V dev board that is able to run Linux exists (the 'HiFive Unleashed [External Link]' ), and it costs $999 [External Link]. Also, the expansion board that turns it into something more capable costs $1999 [External Link]. So maybe it's not feasible yet commercially?

Just enjoy it , that's what i do.
That might be true in this case; though in general (including anything mission critical), you do have to think twice, or take precautions, before using zero-point software.
