Taking on the universe in Avorion, my thoughts on this new sandbox spaceship building game

Reminds me of Kinetic Void, the devs of that game basically ran out of energy/money to finish it properly so its mostly abandon-ware atm. Still works, just not quite a finish feel to it!

And another game called Limit Theory which has never been released yet due to developer loosing his mind and being sent off to the loonie bin or something... (maybe he recovered, hard to say given the project has still yet not appeared!) EDIT: I just checked the devblogs, Josh has come back to life in the past month with LT and things are looking like progress, still its one of those indie games that has been in development for 5x as long as originally planned!

The story of grey market G2A worsens, I really do recommend to stay away

G2A just doesn't have much regulation, the most they have is that Shield nonsense, which only protects the buyer and not the publisher/developer.

The thing is G2A is like a sellers market, much in the way EBAY is. They don't physically put allot of these keys up themselves from what I gather, rather sellers just advertise with them a set number of keys.

Honestly I haven't had any issues with them like you guys, but I don't really buy much off them, only the odd occasional RISKY purchase if I can get a cheap deal on something. Such as titles on the verge of abandon-ware situation.
(Its ironic that DX:MD is at that stage now, publisher blaming customers for poor sales instead of game quality!)

It should also be noted that many PROMINENT YT streamers are still advertising G2A as the bees-nees, so that doesn't help, but what can you do?

More performance improvements are on the way for Deus Ex and Tomb Raider on Mesa

I wonder if they will need to keep applying these improvements to these sort of games each release or if they will automatically apply to other games that use the same rendering features?

Feral Interactive are teasing a new Linux port again

Yes and if we had that Vulkan version on PC Windows it would be a literal game changer. Refer to DOOM on how well it works via Vulkan on wine.

If they could port over Skyrim Special Edition then it would be AMAZE BALLS! But I'm pretty sure Bethesda would outright say NO in a very loud and angry voice. Bethesda is kinda anti-Linux....

Wine Staging 2.0 available, also new on the state of Vulkan, DX11 and more

I suspect once the AMD and NVIDIA (Mostly AMD) driver situation settles and they get to a point where hardware performs nicely and also works with anything you toss it, THEN we might see some AAA titles get more attention like Witcher3.

And don't try to tell me AMD's confusing quad-ripple driver option (choice has its downside) is rock solid now, its not for allot of hardware as reported not long ago. The NVIDIA drivers could be made to install ALLOT easier also, to eliminate the dreaded black-screen issues (and need for X.org to be disabled) that can still occur when installing them manually (installing via distro driver selection is generally safer!).

AND THEN we need to wait until VEGA comes out so AMD users can actually have hardware to play these new games at 4k@60fps :p

I would like to see the below games ported over:
Hello Feral? you there? you want loads of money for a port >>> (from sales)

The Witcher 3
Skyrim SE
Fallout 4
GTA 5

If these games got ported over to work well (wrapping DX11 into Vulkan API would yield best results!), it would change Linux gaming landscape forever! But I suspect it will never happen as the developers of these games have no heart for Linux in general :(

Nearly five years after the Kickstarter, Carmageddon still isn’t on Linux despite the stretch goal being reached

Yeah I have this game, the max damage release was fine and it was free for me so thats ok. But they really had no excuse to not release an experimental Linux version of the game given they had Unity3D as the engine and from my understanding they had updated it to the newer version also, so Linux compatibility should have been a easier move for them.

There is NO WAY that it would cost 200k to make a Linux version of this game given the engine used! So yes I think the developer lied and has turned its back on Linux supporters, don't give them a cent more!

I'm pretty happy with my Manjaro KDE desktop. Thought I have not been using it much lately(SSE/FO4 etc.), it still works without issues.

Here’s some interesting answers from Gabe Newell and Valve from the reddit AMA

Your questions will NEVER be answered because %99.9 of all questions are bombardments of Half-Life3 and when it's coming out, Gabe doesn't need to think to answer these, and people keep asking them and destroying opportunities for REAL QUESTIONS to be answered. They should just auto block all half-life questions and focus on REAL questions!
