Windows version just received a 64bit exe, so maybe they can do the same for the Linux version. It must be getting to the stage where its VERY easy for them to produce these patches. Once that happens there shouldn't be much of a delay. Surely the agent who is doing the Linux version understands that keeping it up to date will increase sales for them!

Possibly he must complete DX9 before adding in the additions of DX10 and DX11 features later on.

Quit the Army hey, can you actually do that but? isn't that like giving up any future military service pension you could have got? kinda shooting yourself in the foot sort of deal, but worse as your gotta pay the medical bills yourself :(
AMD 'Ryzen' is the official name of the Zen processors, more details released today

If people can clock their lower end Zen CPU's at ~4.5ghz (for boost, or if it auto does it) then I will be happy with getting a AMD CPU. Still not sure on what to expect from this auto-clocking business, makes no sense stating a TURBO speed if the thing clocks up to whatever it wants/needs anyway?
Normally you'd find the top stable clocks and volts for the CPU then let it apply those through the typical clock throttling method, having the CPU 'decide' itself on what it can achieve doesn't seem sensible or even stable!

CrossOver 16 is out, built using Wine 2.0

* CrossOver now supports 64-bit Windows applications, with new bottle templates and 64-bit dependency management.
Well this took them like FOREVER to do, maybe I will consider buying a licence sometime next year when I change to a AMD based system.

I just wish Wine development wasn't so damn slow, I think that is what does the damage more then anything else. D3D11 should have been at the level of DX9 is with Wine atm...

Quoting: pete910Native or not interestedThe only issue is MANY games will never in a million years see a Linux port. And for developers of other games to get interested in making native Linux games, more people will need to use Linux, if WineD3D11 efforts help bring more people to Linux then its good overall. Plus there has been developers that used wine to port their games over with great success so I wouldn't be quick to trash it just yet.

Ultimately its up to CryEngine and their ability to get Vulkan working, and applying that to their Linux version of the engine. The guys working on Star Citizen are using the same engine but have a large enough team and money to actually do a fair chunk of the work themselves when the time comes, perhaps they will share that work at some point.
Our latest user survey is done, Steam Controller seems to be the favourite

Hmm, my profile was a bit out of date also, I have recently settled on Manjaro KDE and currently using a 980Ti (I would use two if SLI worked!)
I'll move back to AMD once the 490 comes out, and if it isn't terrible :)

Nearly 4 years later, Steam still won’t close to the tray icon on Linux without workarounds

You must right click on icon and select library under KDE also, so I think that is a common issue.

Running Manjaro KDE here and pretty sure mine closes to the system tray just fine without any major tweak.
