Unity3D game engine hardware statistics updated, shows Linux is very low

I'm pretty sure allot of their engine games have issues. I can't get them working with the OSS driver and a 390x, will give it another go once I get my card back (RMA)

They effectively signed a contract that said when they finished with the company they wouldn't work in their line of work for 12 or so months (basically told to flip burgers for 12months). Then when the employees finally left the job, other disgruntled staff left with them, which again was against the contract as that could be considered stealing staff.

You wouldn't catch me dead signing such a ethically WRONG contract!

PS. The contract is binding even if you were redundant or quit. STUPID.

I vaguely remember this game, I think at the time Risen got released and I shifted over to that. Would like to see a short play-through once this comes out to get a idea of how decent it is. If I remember correctly I wasn't all too impressed with the animation system (I hate rigid physics).

I will buy it once they actually have a Linux version out I think. (think I played a pirated version original :) )

Company of Heroes 2: The British Forces & Ardennes Assault now on SteamOS & Linux

I picked up all this in a humble bundle recently (for $12) which had a crap tonne of stuff in it, well worth it.

You can also look at the results here:
Phoronix AMD/NVIDIA comparison (recent) [External Link]
I think you are overall wrong, AMD is having major issues keeping up in synthetic benchmarks also!

That's like saying all games and software under Linux are actually using OpenGL wrongly because AMD gets bad performance and NVIDIA doesn't.. so therefore AMD shouldn't really be trying to keep up with OGL performance...

I wasn't referring to COH2, but in general. SOME things work, most don't. I really don't care if there is a error in AMD's code, that's not my fault.

And while you pick at NVIDIA, they have a working driver that delivers 200-300% more performance over AMD, so I'll take dishonest code over broken and terrible code any day!

AMD release the AMD GPU-PRO Beta Driver with Vulkan support for Linux

Phoronix has already compared the AMD/NVIDIA performance. Nvidia is still %200-300 faster then AMD cards, so a long way to go yet!

Provided you stay away from AMD cards, then gaming under Linux is looking VERY good and prosperous.

(I have a 390x and tried ALL driver versions including experimental and its like ripping your eye balls out, crashes all over, then when it works you will end up with only %40-50 of the performance NVIDIA gets for similar/slower cards)

PS. My 390x is in the shop atm under RMA, yep AMD cards melt!

Unity game engine 5.4 beta is out, developers working on performance

"developers working on performance" GOOD.

Really wish more developers would work on performance tuning sooner however, games like ARK & Space Engineers could REALLY use it!

Kingdom Come: Deliverance doesn't look like it will come to Linux any time soon

CryEngine are working on it I assume, but given Nvidia card/users can probably only use it, then I doubt they are dedicating too much to it. Plus Vulkan is still new so could be another 6months before they figure that out.
