Playtron give a bit more detail on the Linux-based PlaytronOS and their plans

This a SteamOS remix or they trying to make their own? I don't see reason to make one from scratch which will have limited support, unless they base it on ARCH and use that.

HELLDIVERS 2 sees over 130K bad reviews on Steam as Sony double down

PSN could have avoided this by just introducing a separate client for PC users that didn't have region restrictions. A place holder so to speak to bridge the gap until they can do it properly instead of forcing PC users to link to a PlayStation console exclusive service!!!!

UK Government replies to petition about requiring publishers to keep games working

Governments needs to force them to include a Offline and/or peer2peer connection mode that is independent of the always online component.

And for those saying some games its impossible! Keep in mind World Of Warcraft got community made private servers! Yes THE COMMUNITY made that happen not Blizzard! So they can easily and quickly do it!

HELLDIVERS 2 will soon actually require a PlayStation Network account

I don't really see the reason why everyone who never plans to have a playstation needs now make a PSN account to play the game bought on steam. But apparently it was in the fine print somewhere.

is PSN store coming to PC? then that would make some sense.

Getting closer to optimal SteamVR, won't be long before Valve will actually be able to use it on their next VR headset, which I assume they still plan to do given all the steam updates referencing VR features not seen in any other headset yet.

Also its my understanding the open-source driver can't do CUDA, DLSS, HDR or HDMI2.1 etc... like its pretty vanilla and may NEVER see those features become a thing?

Quoting: EhvisIn that case it is more likely that one core being maxed out is limiting performance. Upscaling won't help with that.
Perhaps, but they can also implement frame gen, which I do believe modders have already done for them. At least for skyrim I guess. FrameGen bypasses CPU bottlenecks. Not ideal, but works quite well for Single Player games.

As for mod compatibility; often the break will be linked to Script Extender, so once that is patched (happens pretty fast normally), MOST mods will suddenly work again except those that modify the ESP/ESM tables extensively like say, major storyline mods.

Be nice if they added fsr3 and dlss perhaps also with frame gen. Game can really benefit from that in areas where no matter how good your hardware is, the fps will just tank.

KDE's Xaver Hugl on why Wayland explicit sync is such a big deal

Be a great day once NVIDIA gets better 10bit colour support and properly balanced HDR (is desaturated and wrong exposure atm).

On top of that need DLSS Frame Gen support.

THEN I can fully switch to Linux, well at least 99% of the stuff I do anyway.
