Can you use FSR4 on NVIDIA hardware? I thought NVIDIA had the HW component but perhaps its not compatible and is still the SOFTWARE hacked FSR4 which is inferior?

Basically asking if FSR4 HW (not hacked SW version) is exclusive to RDNA4?

War Thunder is getting infantry combat
10 Dec 2025 at 12:36 am UTC

That is CRAZY.
BUT I did think it would be cool, however, hmm. Is everyone going to be RPG soldiers? :)
I do hope they have suitable options for each tier because WW1/2 tanks fighting modern infantry, yeah not a good idea!

I still have WarThunder installed, planned to return to it for a little bit now and again, maybe I'll check this update out.

ALSO doesn't Gaijin have a FPS WW2 game already? guessing that one is more focused on infantry thought.

The RAM price and availability situation is going to worsen as Micron pull their Crucial consumer business

Imagine if the other 2 providers did the same thing. lol
I don't see how Valve can make hardware under these situations.

Fortunately I bought all my top end PC hardware before this all started.
Just going to sit back and watch the entire world burn, and it is going to burn with Nuclear FIRE! :woot: :woot: :woot:

Quoting: CanadianBlueBeerGlad I upgraded when I did. (2 yrs ago)

WHEN, not IF, the AI bubble bursts, gonna be a great time to do another upgrade. :)
Something else is going to burst at the same time, so you won't be buying anything when that happens. Think about it for a tiny second, the whole world invests into AI crap.. pours trillions of trillions into it, what do you think bursting will do, if it happened? minor upsets? no think well WELL north of major upset, we talking all missiles in the sky!

Quoting: GoEsrThey can't fix that until Vulkan does (also as per nvidia forum big thread about it).
Doesn't affect Intel or AMD, which also use Vulkan....

Good to see the small struggling tech company NVIDIA being able to push out some nice fixes, BUT we still have completely broken DX12 performance bug with MANY games (as per nvidia forum big thread about it).

Arch-based distro EndeavourOS gets a new Ganymede release
2 Dec 2025 at 1:03 am UTC

This is good for people who want a basically pre-setup arch but NOT a fully 'tweaked' version like CachyOS.

I used it before CachyOS. if your aware of all the additional stuff you may need to tweak, its pretty good base.

KDE Plasma going all-in on Wayland and will drop the X11 session completely

Quoting: enigmaxg2The memory leak issue with slideshow wallpapers on Nvidia is still a thing,
I do use slideshow feature for background wallpaper on my 4090 and never noticed this. Is it with plasmashell process growing infinitely in memory usage? I'll have to keep a eye on things.

Honestly I don't get that many issues now with Wayland, but it seems some people find it unusable which is interesting. Makes you wonder how their systems are setup, perhaps broken packages or configuration.

According to Epic CEO Tim Sweeney - game stores don't need an AI label as it will be everywhere

I would like a label but also a definition on what parts of game are AI generated.

Quoting: melkemindSo, is Plasma Wayland in a good state for Nvidia users now?
Has been for a while, but the NVIDIA DX12 performance bug is still a thing and its a rather NASTY AND BIG issue.
