Here's some of the latest Steam Deck Verified titles including the popular Valheim

Allot of people were complaining that Valheim is a pretty terribly optimized game even for normal PC. Given its low polygon+texture art style, that is surprising.

Steam Deck Verified has issues, Grand Theft Auto V edition

Yeah Valve should probably collect up save files for many different sections of games like these to test instead of just doing a basic startup and first run-through test which isn't always a good indicator on if the game will continue running good.

I remember the original Tomb Raider game port (1st in remakes) ran good in benchmark mode and also in initial starting levels but later on had performance and hitching issues to point that it made it non-enjoyable vs playing the proton version (windows) now.

Some games do need launchers like ARMA-3 as it has allot of mods and options that aren't configurable in-game (because engine is limited and old as jank).

It be nice if Steam Verified games had a community voting system attached to them so people whom own the games and run on linux can VOTE/RATE the verified listing with ability to post a comment with vote. This way valve would get a pretty clear picture on if the game needs more testing/fixing or not.....

Quoting: GuestYou can use Bottles, which has an installer for the Epic Games Store here.
Bottles UI currently has ALLOT of jank going on so people thinking about using it, be aware of that jank.

Is Destiny 2 using a Kernel level backdoor method of Anticheat? if so then Bungie can go F themselves...

SICK of these backdoor let us hoover up all your keystrokes and web-browser history and everything even when your not playing the game anticheat methods. Should be illegal!

ELEX was fun, but I only got 90% of the way through it before I accidentally deleted my saves. I've just started ELEX-2 and am enjoying that, I already know most the ending of ELEX-1 anyway so not big loss.

I will say that ELEX-2 does have performance issues in area's such as The Fort and other bigger towns. Kind of wish they included FSR and DLSS options for the game or moved to DX12 (vulkan even) but it seems they mostly just updated ELEX-1 engine and stayed on DX11.

I know Piranha Bytes takes a LONG TIME to transition into new engine tech. Same issue happened with their Gothic and Risen games. They were fun and had the game-play mostly down (with jank) bu the underlying engine tech was a few years behind the rest of the world.

GOG suspends all sales in Russia and Belarus

Quoting: Guestyes one crazy person start war (that is evil) so as response lets make life on normal people in Belarus (that Hate Putin and Łukaszenko) more sad and hard be not selling them (because we can do evil thinks too and pretend that we do good think)
Not quite as simple as that.
The premise is that by making life harder on the people in Russia and Belarus by taking away their toys (GOG). It will trigger the citizens of those locations to pay more attention to the shit that's going down.

Remember Russian and Belarus CITIZENS are in the military killing Ukraine citizens. Their not some separatist military group. At the end of the day; the citizens are always punished, and sometimes when we're lucky, rich sob get hit too...

XCOM 2's multiplayer being removed but will still work on Linux and Steam Deck

One of the biggest pitfalls of centralized multiplayer login or authentication servers and not just handling it peer-to-peer or at the local hosts side.

I saw one person review this and they were getting 30fps.. (press review) good to see things got a bit patched at launch. Should still run better IMO

Wonder if ANY of them are slated for Australia... probably not. I'll just keep playing with sand in meanwhile.

A round-up of our Steam Deck content — the videos keep coming

Quite a few games will have odd performance hickups due to downloads in background (disable this on the deck) and also shader caching which should go away after a while.

There was also a outstanding bug with gamescope that causes certain (many) games to have a weird stutter after so many minutes in-game. Apparently it was fixed recently but I haven't confirmed it myself.

Also no steam-deck in Australia; probably not for a long while too given world events.
