Pretty sure this is running on OpenGL still; quite impressively really. There is a option for Vulkan but its never been updated and doesn't really work; it be nice if they updated Vulkan and moved to it as the default.

Also this be a great game to get VR edition or something down the line.

Really what I want to see is fractional scaling options instead of the automatic 2xUI thing. %125, 133, 150 specifically!

Seems no hope for Insurgency: Sandstorm on Steam Deck / Linux

Yeah so they don't want to update to the latest EAC SDK which would offer them better protection against cheaters.. Instead they prefer to use older versions which basically do nothing to stop cheating....

Game ALREADY works under Proton from my testing. So they could JUST enable that EAC support unless their trying to argue they can't update EAC implementation (seen some devs use that excuse).

Unfortunate.

Luckily many competitors that are looking ALLOT better then Sandstorm are coming out these days so if the developer of IST insists on keep EAC disabled for Linux users then people will just move to other shooter games! and so they should!

SteamOS for the Steam Deck gets slimmed down to 10GB

I wonder if Steam Deck will have disk compression enabled. I've been using zstd:3 (default) on my btrfs drives for a few weeks now with great success. ARK for example, down from 284GB to 100GB! and no performance hit. However perhaps the Steam Deck won't have good enough CPU so performance hit may be noticeable?

So this is lumberyard? what happened to lumberyard, discontinued? Also if this is lumberyard then its open-source crytek engine 3 or 4? Does it currently support DX12 and Vulkan?

GOverlay for editing MangoHud gets a new Steam Deck friendly UI
1 Dec 2021 at 12:43 am UTC

Quoting: benjamimgoisThanks guys ! The UI works fine on plasma but there're currently some problems with Gnome. It seems the new UI always relies on the light-theme version of the desktop, even if you are using the dark one. That breaks the interface... i'm working in a fix for 0.7.1 soon.
You know it appears to me the default Cube render to the right does not have overlay present unless it is enabled globally beforehand.. I suggest making sure it sets the environmental variables correctly on program launch.

I can get the MangoHud overlay to show if I select the controller icon down bottom right and select vkcube again but this shouldn't be needed to preview given you're already running it on the right!

WELL if they release GOG Galaxy 2 for Linux and Mac they might get some bonus points from the community... just a thought.
