Quoting: KohlyKohlFor native Linux to take off, the number of gamers on Linux needs to go up first.
Still waiting for the wave of EAC support to happen from devs like SCUM/DUST etc..

The Zink driver for OpenGL over Vulkan shows good performance on NVIDIA

OpenGL is still pretty useful for projects that don't need blistering fast API's. But if your making a next-gen game, yeah, OGL is dead in that respects!

Quoting: Avehicle7887Despite all that, the Ray Tracing option is grayed out and I'm at a loss what I could be missing.
You may have forgot about the below. With my 6800XT, it crashes the desktop, major failure.
VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr or dxr11

I don't know why my system completely folds over with RT. Makes no sense.

Also in those screenshots, doesn't seem very noticeable.

Beyond All Reason is shaping up to be a truly massive RTS

Seems like they've achieve more then what Ashes of the Singularity can do (a buggy af game), and Planetary Annihilation.

At least with unit count and performance.

I tried to get RT working on CONTROL with my 6800XT but all it did was create a blackscreen and lock my desktop up among other things..

Quoting: LeopardCry Engine Vulkan backend state is unknown; it is safe to assume both D3D12 and Vulkan backends in Cry Engine are not mature as D3D11.

Crytek released their Crysis Remastered versions with D3D11 also.
Crytek company announced a year or so back that their engine FULLY supports DX12 and Vulkan.. I don't know what the unknown part is. DX11 likely does not perform better, especially for this type of game which has way more entities then DX11 likes!

SteamVR Overlay not working on Arch or Manjaro Linux? Here's a fix
18 Nov 2021 at 2:25 am UTC

The VR kit I was expecting to get next month (DecaGear1) has been delayed by another 12months so no VR for me.

It's rather unfortunate as it's release will likely be after many other options appear, they didn't have much competition in Q4 '21 or Q1 '22. They could find themselves releasing a outdated feature poor headset if not careful!

Ironically the graphics engine this game runs on has supported Vulkan API for a while now. They don't seem all that interested in updating it for gamer benefit.

NVIDIA takes on AMD FSR with their new open source Image Scaling

FSR still has some sharper texture handling but I suppose you can fix that issue with vkbasalt.

I would like them to put some more effort into distance detail enhancing rather then up in your face comparisons. Often these scaling systems break down when dealing with medium to long range objects/textures etc...
