I will have to give PolyMC a shot. The official launcher always forgets my Microsoft account, which is quite annoying since it requires 2FA every time! What a PITA!
It is supposed to work if you install gnome-keyring, but it still doesn't. Plus, that just causes problems for other apps that don't know which keyring to choose when you have both the gnome one and plasma one. Done with that!

This is the type of game I would like to buy on GOG, but the effort to make it work on Linux is much higher. Maybe I will get it on Steam. Might not if it uses Steam DRM though.
Even Xbox Game Studios are talking about Steam Deck compatibility

As for the Halo Masterchief Collection, that works in single-player but not the main online multiplayer and I even showed Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 plus Halo 3 and Halo Reach working on a normal Linux desktop some time ago.It used to. I played through the entire Halo Reach campaign with a Windows buddy. We played into Halo 1 for a while and planned to play them all in chronological order. But we stopped being able to join each other's game! SUCKS

Quoting: tuubiIt could, or may not. Comes down to the interpretation of the one in charge. One could spread something that is true but exaggerate how much attention or action it requires. But yeah, it could cover misinformation I suppose.Quoting: 14What do you mean? Isn't that exactly what "be mindful of what you [...] spread" is about?Quoting: tuubi"Disinformation"? I see what you did there.Quoting: AnzaQuoting: 14And here I thought political comments were against the rules. At least as far as the article goes, we are not far into offtopic territory. It would be hard to not to discuss about politics when article discusses about sanctions.Quoting: Posting rules- Politics is important, it affects everything and everyone. However, be mindful of what you talk about and spread. If it is likely to cause arguments, don't post it. Most of the time, political chat isn't really needed here. Obviously if we cover something political, that is inviting respectable debate keeping all the other rules in mind.Political discussion is fine when it's topical, disinformation and arguments are not.

If PipeWire allows me to easily have my Mumble voice chat only go to my headset, while game audio is the only thing going to OBS, then it will become basically essential immediately.

Quoting: PhiladelphusOh, was that it? I was going to say, I love the 60's style of trailer suspense. Now I can look up this music and see how close I was.Quoting: Projectile VomitThey had me at Gustav Holst's, Mars: Theme From The Planets as the music for this video.I've got "Mars, Bringer of War" (as it's titled) stuck in my head now.

I'll stop my drabble. Anyway, I would be very surprised if Valve tried to compete with Fortnite.

Quoting: slaapliedjeThere is a solution to this Fortnite business... Valve should work on a better game! Guaranteed if something similar enough, but better comes along, Fortnite will be left in the dust, and 20 years from now when the kids that enjoy it get nostalgic, they will have recreated server side software to be able to play it themselves.I don't feel like Valve has enough developers to create a wildly popular game. CS:GO and Dota 2 have been going strong a long time and have "production mode" dev teams. Half-Life: Alyx was a good step for the gaming industry, but a little niche and experimental as far as the market goes (VR only). So I don't think they even have a desire to compete with a game like Fortnite and PUBG. Do I think a Dota 2 world of characters in a first-person or third-person battle royale setting could be fun? Yes! Would it feel great if it was built with Source engine? No! It would feel stiff and old. Also, Valve already has a black spot on its record with the poor reception of Artifact; if their next game isn't great, their game invention and credibility will majorly tank if they have two bad eggs in a row. Come to think of it, weren't both Counter-Strike and Dota 2 rip-offs of other games (or mods) at the time? Maybe Half-Life is their only glorious original creation. Portal is amazing, although, IIRC, they hired on someone who made the concept of the game, so that was an acquired creation.
I'll stop my drabble. Anyway, I would be very surprised if Valve tried to compete with Fortnite.
