Ugh, it feels like we will never get any Vulkan games.

I do hope it is Cheese as he did a great job with the Day of the Tentacle Remastered port for Linux: http://boilingsteam.com/podcast/podcast-4-with-cheese-porter-on-dott-remastered [External Link]

It doesn't look like Homefront: The Revolution is going to come to Linux any time soon

This series is kinda garbage, with the original being the better game. I have no interest in the sequel (even when I played the original), so not having on GNU/Linux is fine with me.

Linux market-share on Steam dropped 0.08% in December 2016

I haven't gotten a survey in over a year now. Why is Valve still basing this on a rare survey and not actual login and usage stats?

It hurts us and it hurts Valve too when it makes our platform look weak and on life support.

Lars Doucet, a game developer, is asking Valve to open source the Steam Controller software

Valve should release the source code under a free software license as they are already piggybacking on top of Debian, which is FLOSS. It doesn't really hurt them to have open drivers available for everyone.

Editorial: The Nintendo Switch will use Vulkan, why that doesn't suddenly mean more Linux ports

Quoting: CreakThe rest is mainly Sony with its PS4. That's why Nintendo announcing they're supporting Vulkan just isn't enough. But if Sony announces it, it might change the situation.
It would be awesome if Sony added Vulkan support to the PS4 or the PS5 and above. The PS4 is still killing the Xbox One in market share (even if the XO has outsold the PS4 in the past few months) and having Sony in the Vulkan camp would be beneficial.

If AAA developers and publishers bring their game to the Switch and are forced to learn and use Vulkan, it is a huge benefit for everyone as they may use Vulkan for their PC releases too.

It was added to the Ubuntu PPA a few hours ago at https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa [External Link] and hopefully makes its way into the SolusOS repos soon. Solus currently has 375.20.

What one game would blow your mind if it came to Linux & SteamOS?

DOOM 2016

It already supports Vulkan and games in the past with Denuvo (Deus Ex) were ported over. Let's make it happen Aspyr/Feral/Bethesda/ID! You have a guy there (Axel Gneiting) that would probably do it since he already has experience with Vulkan + Linux with vkQuake: https://github.com/Novum/vkQuake [External Link]
