I almost forgot about this game, I was one of the first to ask for a Linux build. The game looks really awesome, a Diablo style hack&slay but 2D orthogonal. Something I always wanted to code myself, but never pulled it off. This will be an instant buy.

Nvidia 375.26, 340.101 and 304.134 driver releases are now available

I just manually installed 375.26 and well, it fucked up my XServer. .xsession-errors revealed "cannot connect to brltty, no such file or directory". Never seen such a strange error, but also didn't bother looking it up. sudo apt purge nvidia* && apt install nvidia-370 fixed it, didn't want to bother with 375.20 from the stable repos either. So a bit of a warning seems to be appropriate for Ubuntu 16.04 users.

Quoting: GuestErr, it’s absolutely impossible to prevent games from updating on Steam, or have you found a secret method to do that? How about setting the update policy for the game in the game properties to never?
Black Mesa, the fan-made remake of Half-Life is rather unstable on Linux right now

Well I got it fixed. Deleting libstdc++6.so is working, one just has to start a new game, cause old savegames won't work. Now all works fine. But I will wait until more fixes come in and play some other games. Not that there are enough unplayed games in my library ;)

Ubuntu 16.04, GTX 970, always crashing. Deleting libstdc++, fuxung fps, setting mat_queue_mode, nothing helps. Will skip this game for now.

Does anyone have weird crash problems with that game? Mine keeps crashing right before entering the test chamber in 'Anomalous Materials'. Console always tells about a segfault but that's it. From the Steam Forums I read that the bundled libstdc++6.so seems to be a big part of the problem, but for me that doesn't fix it. Also the plethora of posts about the buggy Linux version, I would stay away from the game for now until the Linux port is more stable. (And Xen is still missing :D )

Personally I never got warm with KDE. It is too Windows-esque for my taste. I really like Unity, because it gave me the best out of the box experience so far. And then there is Unity tweak tool, to make Unity even more tasteful, with little effort. But the great thing about the Linux ecosystem is that there are multiple DE's with all their pros and cons, which gives everyone a choice.
