Proton Experimental fixes controls in Starfield and supports Assassin's Creed Mirage

It makes sense to fix non-steam games because they may very well be on steam in the future. Valve also want Linux to be a viable alternative to Windows so they would be happy to see other studios join in. I predict if the steam deck keeps succeeding and growing we will see more native launchers for Linux.

I never expected Abuse to be talked about on this site ever. I was only just talking about this game with a friend the other month as I was getting nostalgic. I didn't even know they did a Linux release. Neat.

I wish they would make a Days Gone 2. Well worth buying especially at that price.

Get Alan Wake, Pathologic 2, STASIS: BONE TOTEM and more in this bundle

I bought Alan Wake on release and it took me until last year to finally finish the game because of a save game bug that had me stuck running around getting nowhere. 😂

Once I had that done I did Alan Wakes American Nightmare. Not quite the same quality or atmosphere as the original, but still worth playing if you enjoyed the story.

I wish they'd release the remaster on steam. Maybe one day they will along with Alan Wake 2.

Diablo 4 is coming to Steam on October 17th

I'm conflicted here, because I love the Starcraft and Diablo series and so have all but D4 on Battle.net (I was waiting for the price to drop). Because of OCD it would trigger me to have only one of their games on Steam, but it would be so much more convenient from a compatibility and ease of install point of view.

I just wish Blizzard had released a native Linux launcher, they could easily support all their games through Proton. It's a shame to hear negative reviews of D4 on here, I certainly hope it's not that bad.

Their whole business plan seems whacky to me and I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner.

I found a reply from one of the QA testers here

QuoteHey there guys, I'm one of the testers for Talos 2, unfortunately there is no Linux version, however, the game runs really well in Proton, with stable FPS and no tweaks needed.

You shouldn't worry about because even with Linux you'll be able to play the game just fine.

Instabuy. I haven't even watched the trailer. The first game was so good and Croteam have been supporting Linux gaming for a long time. I generally don't buy games at full price but will make an exception for this.

Edit: that's a shame if they've given up their engine and native support for this release. I wonder if the Linux programmers have left? I still will buy, but that is disappointing to hear if the person above is correct.

We may see Counter-Strike 2 release next week

Quoting: heidi.wengerCould someone put up a screen shot of that https://twitter.com/CounterStrike/status/1704541038633959492 tweet? It seems without an account you can't even read messages no more in that god awful "X", and Nitter seems to be blocked. How nice? In this day and age. Nice freedom Musk

I deleted my Twitter under previous ownership and didn't plan to return. Not being able to search for specific tweets or view comments was getting tiresome so I created a "burner" account just to view stuff. Still not using it regularly but it is a little less painful when I do need to use it.

GNOME 45 released with dynamic workspace indicator, camera indicator and much more

Quoting: PhlebiacI seem to recall they made breaking changes for the extensions; hopefully most of them are updated quickly.

It's the one thing I hate about Gnome, each update invariably breaks user extensions. I will try and wait awhile before updating.
