The new video for Transport Fever shows off the town simulation, looks awesome

Quoting: Dax TailorWhat I miss is something like A-Trains 9 or an updated version of industrial tycoon. A real train simulation like Trainz would be nice too.
I had some hope when Train Simulator folks, DTG, announced a new train simulator based on Unreal Engine. DTG used to be quite close to Valve, their game deeply integrated with Steam and the announcement came about the same time as the Steam Machine hype. Unfortunately they are now developing close ties with Microsoft and will publish for Xbox One, so my hopes are gone.

Quoting: EhvisSingle city/multi city is rather vague. Cities in Motion 2 was technically single city, but nothing stopped anyone from making a two city map.
Then comparisons can be even more direct.

It will be interesting to see how it compares with Cities Skylines. While Transport Fever is multi-city and CS is a single city, CS is deeply rooted in a transport simulator too. Obviously, it's hard to compare CS graphics with TF :o

Interview with Timothee Besset, formerly of id Software, who helped port Rocket League to Linux
16 Sep 2016 at 6:15 am UTC

@dmantione and others:

Check a Dell/Alienware interview from a while back - and remember that Alienware is the only Steam Machine vendor that continues to update their SMs. They openly stated that SteamOS/Steam Machines were used as a lever to show MS that if Windows becomes a walled garden and basically akin to a console ecosystem with high entry barrier, third party developers have an alternative. So far Microsoft is not locking down Windows, so SteamOS is not promoted too much. As soon as MS limits ability to install software outside of Windows Store, Valve will push SteamOS harder.

Of course, to keep that option open they need to update and support SteamOS just enough that at least enthusiasts stick to it and at least some developers publish for SteamOS/Linux. But they won't strongly push Bethesda or CD Project Red to port their stuff to Linux.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is officially coming to SteamOS & Linux, port by Feral Interactive

Quoting: FredOExcellent news! The Feral Radar is looking mighty full at the moment, so it'll be an expensive last few months of the year. Bread and water for me so I can feed the Feral machine.
And both Depth Charge and 808 SB12S marked "very soon" have not been revealed yet.

Quoting: PeciskToo much positive news lately. Linux gaming is dead, according to naysayers :D

Damn....Feral keep cracking. Loving those guys.
Yeah, but sometimes it fees like Feral is the only one.
Yes, Feral seems to be the only source of AAA titles for Linux recently. Fortunately, we have plenty of non-AAA titles worth playing. I have 54 SteamOS/Linux titles on my wishlist, not to mention the backlog in my library... :)

Quoting: BeamboomThis game fetched a rock solid metascore of 85% with the (real) reviewers saying this gamer corrects the wrongs of the first game (especially the abysmal boss fights).
You mean the wrongs of the second game, don't you? :)

I agree that the only reason for negative reviews that seems to matter is the abrupt ending - seems to be a hint of essential DLC coming soon that will conclude open story lines.

A montage of an intense ranked 1on1 battle I did in Rocket League, amazing
13 Sep 2016 at 8:29 am UTC

I purchased it, started, cranked up quality to maximum (Zotac Steam Machine) and... I had a blast just fooling around the play field. I didn't need bots or other players, my clumsiness was enough of a challenge :)

Awesome game.

Rocket League thoughts on Linux, initial port report, it’s also 25% off right now

So if I buy it now on Linux, opt into beta and play on Linux, it will get counted as a Linux purchase?

CD PROJEKT RED replied to me about The Witcher 3 and Linux, flat-out denying to answer any questions

Quoting: cxphergmailcomIn my opinion, the best way to deal with this is to be honest and say it's in the works but will take some time (like next year or something). At least the community can take it in their stride and deal with it knowing that those SteamOS ads which they bought the game for, were not a lie outright.
But snippets coming from CDPR don't confirm that "it's in the works but will take some time". It's rather: higher-ups have not stamped the final decision to drop it yet, so we cannot confirm or deny. Or perhaps: we're not doing it ourselves, but we're open for discussion if an independent developer would like to.
