Valve appear to be banning games with AI art on Steam (updated)

Essentially, the original works being fed into the ML models are under copyright. Much of the art / film / music under copyright is also licensed under complex terms including residuals - the original artist gets paid when their art is used or shown, distributors get their cut, and so on.
If you take any work that is only legally available under license (i.e. most of it) and you use it in an AI training data set, what legal standing do you have? If you did not have the license up front, you used data that you did not have permission to use. You can not claim your model does not contain the source material in some form, because that was used for input and must remain in some transformed form, even algorithmic weights, in the ML model.
Valve is playing safe while the legal aspects are litigated. As a large international business, Valve's position is the only legally safe avenue.

Quoting: KimyrielleThe images are used for the training process and are then discarded. No fragments of copyrighted material remain in the published model. During training, the AI -does- learn to reproduce art-styles of existing artists.I expect to see multiple legal cases where this statement gets tested.

What are the chances of the Steam Link offering four-channel surround at some point (like Windows does)? I'd love to play in surround sound...

I've been cranking Everspace (ten runs in, currently in Sector 4 and have acquired Gunship) - which is an interesting take on a shooter/looter/roguelike in space. I'm not convinced that a HOTAS is going to keep me alive any longer than the mouse+keyboard I'm currently using (I have a Thrustmaster HOTAS-X).
Elite:Dangerous keeps lurking in my to-be-properly-played list. I have it up and working - I've grabbed the Crab v6.01 HOTAS-X bindings and I need to retrain myself with this set of controls.
As for controllers, I've got a SC, two PS4 DualShocks (which work flawlessly over bluetooth and wired with almost everything) and a venerable Logitech F310 which comes out for the games that don't like any of the other controllers.

Having bought a couple of PS4 dualshock4 controllers for my sons, I'm looking for more games which offer local co-op / local multiplayer. This might fit the bill nicely.
The next version of Lutris will allow you to search for more games directly from the client
