Well I'm on Nvidia and I'm still on 384.130... I've not tried 396.xx but 390.xx wasn't stable enough for me last time I tried it... :S:

Deus Ex and DIRT both have Ubuntu 16.10 as requirement and I'm able to play them on 16.04 without problem... but 17.10 could be a default requirement for MESA (the needed version is probably available on 16.04 with a specific ppa activated and Feral just put as a requirement the Ubuntu version that comes with the needed MESA version as default for less technical users). :)

I'm into graphics and only use Linux for my work (as well as for gaming). With DisplayCal, Krita, the GIMP, Inkscape and Scribus you can actually work in a professional graphic environment with Linux even if the workflow is less "integrated" than what you can get with Adobe "creative suits" (and it's not that bad as it force user to understand what he is doing, which is not always the case with some professionals I'm encountering from time to time... like using US printing standards ICC profiles that are "default" on Adobe creative suits even if they are working with EU printing standards which are not the same). ;)

I have too long a backlog, but this definitely looks like it will scratch the Elite Dangerous flying itch I've been having... Anyone played both Elite Dangerous and this? Specifically the flying, how does it compare?

Everspace is more a FPS than a spaceship simulator when it comes to the "flying system" (keyboard inputs are more than less similar to those of a classic FPS, and that's why mouse + keyboard is more recommended than a controller) which may be disturbing if you expect "realism". :)

I don't think that the problem is only linked to Unreal Engine games, SOMA (HPL engine, in-house OpenGL engine from Frictional) has the same bug (and the same "green screen" over SteamLink bug if I remember correctly). :S:
