Epic Games Store saw a 57% increase in purchases for third-party PC games in 2025

That whole store *only* exists because of their shady business practice of throwing money at devs to either go EGS exclusive or at least be available for free for some time. Without that approach there would hardly anyone being using it at all as it simply serves *no* benefits to users over any other platform.

Quoting: RickTheMelonThe biggest trouble with EGS is the fact it is just a store. It's not only "just a store". It even totally sucks at exactly that point and there have been no improvements from the very beginning (that I noticed at least). I mean ... the store pages don't even tell you if a game SP/MP or not... *If* you are lucky it's somewhere in the text the dev adds, but that's just luck ...

Full-size HDMI would be nice, but still what a device like this really should have is a fully featured USB-C port (powering the Pi while also providing the video signal to a monitor and optionally linking to network / mouse).
Imagine just having to plug this into a modern monitor with just one cable and not needing anything else ... But they missed that chance again and instead added RGB LEDs to every button ... yeah, a few kids might think this is cool, but it doesn't help anyone.

Quoting: Avehicle7887So apparently the motherboard pcb has the markings for an M.2 SSD slot, except that the components are not actually present on the motherboard ...Oh damn. That sucks ... I missed that one but that's definitely something I waited for too in an Pi 500. :( Thanks for pointing that out!

Either way nothing would stop them from using a full size HDMI on those, it's a different PCB anyway. So it's just their choice *not* to use regular sized HDMI, requiring you to carry around an adapter or "special" cable as typically people will not have Micro HDMI cables around, but about everyone with a TV will have a full size HDMI cable.
Note I'm really only talking about the RPi x00 series here as I think those are meant more like "attach to a screen and use it" devices. I don't think it hurts that much with the regular RPis as those are used differently - and often even without a screen in the first place.

Quoting: ToddLThey stopped using the regular HDMI socket since the Raspberry Pi 3 models and it doesn't look like they'll bring it back anytime soon. It's actually been the 4 (or maybe 3+), attached a 3B to my parents TV just yesterday actually with a regular HDMI cable ;)

Was waiting for the day to come. Unfortunately IMHO they missed two important opportunities for the 500: Regular HDMI sockets and - even more important these days - a fully featured USB-C that not only powers the RPi but also provides DP alt mode and USB host functions so you can really just plug this thing into a screen / USB-dock with just one cable and everything would be ready.
Still nice to see they do refresh the RPi x00 series from time to time so maybe a 600 will do that :)

Yeah, absolutely loved Infinitode 1 and 2 on my mobiles. I especially like TD in general for mobiles as I think that's just a perfect match for the kind of input device. So I'd not be going to play it on PC just because it's there - there's other games I can play on a PC that I "can't" on a mobile - but I hope to see updates to it on mobile too now. Or an Infinitode 3 :D
I just noticed it actually *does* have an update already, nice :)

The 1.0 release for 7 Days to Die is finally here

Thing is that Vulkan is so extremely dependent on the HW/OS/drivers/Unity combination that it can easily crash whereas GlCore might be way worse at performance but it's typically rock stable.

but they still have a note that the Vulkan version isn't fully supportedYeah, I should probably remove that text by now :D

One could also conclude you have encountered a bug that no one else has ;)
I know of a lot of people, including streamers on the last weekend, that play the native Linux version of 1.0 just fine, both on GLcore (though some encounter overly bright ingame graphics here) and Vulkan.

Valve limits Steam store pages to 2 trailers before screenshots

But in that case there's definitely still titles out there that did not follow that rule :(

Quoting: SolitaryIf I am not mistaken that is actually a rule. Screenshots should show actual gameplay. Now that you say it I think I remember having read about that before. Not in the marketing dept so only really care about those details as a user, not dev :D

Wish they also added a similar rule to images showing actual gameplay vs renders. Can't remember what it was last time but I just had that case a few days ago where there was like a dozen or so images first after the numerous trailers that did not show *actual gameplay* either.
