I gravely appreciate developers who make games like this.
I see what you did there!

LiquidSky, the 'PC in the Cloud' gaming service will support Linux

The idea is pretty cool, although I preferred the OnLive execution - a user-friendly client with tens of games ready to run on demand with a single click and an affordable subscription model (much like Netflix). I used it quite a lot since it ran seamlessly on Wine. It was an easy way to try games such as Assassin's Creed 2, Duke Nukem Forever, Saints Row 3, Borderlands on Linux. And it was 2011, before Steam for Linux was announced!

Sadly, the infrastructure turned out to be too expensive to maintain and they had huge financial problems, eventually got bought by Sony who used their cloud gaming tech in their own products.

For Liquidsky, you have to already own games on other platforms to run them - they "only" offer a powerful machine accessible from any place on the internet. Even though they are kind enough to offer Linux support, it does not look as much tempting to me :(

Fumbling around with tanks in War Thunder on Linux, some thoughts

Played tanks only cause I sucked at planes. It's very fun in the beginning, but gets more pay-to-win after leveling up a bit. Still, a nice game!

System76 have refreshed their most powerful Linux laptops now with 7th Gen Intel CPUs

Quoting: ArehandoroSpeaking from an ignorant point of view, what are the advantages of getting a System76 Ubuntu dedicated desktop to a desktop choosing the components myself and installing Ubuntu (or any other distro)?
1. You support a small Linux-oriented business instead of big companies that mostly sell Windows hardware, and by that:
- You help Linux widespread
- You invest money in people who actively work to improve Linux drivers and hardware compatibility (as well as desktop user applications)
2. You are guaranteed that your hardware is 100% Ubuntu compatible
3. You get customer support from people who know how to solve Linux-related issues

Quoting: ArehandoroIs it just me or are they pretty overpriced?
The competition (mostly Lenovo) has better prices, but again, System76 is a company dedicated to Ubuntu hardware...

If it wasn't for the cost of shipping to Europe + the custom tax, I would consider getting a laptop from them.

How to easily find new releases on Steam

Quoting: liamdaweAnd no, the author did not mean discoverability of small indie games, they were very clearly outright complaining about how to get to the new releases section.
"(...) unknown games have an incredibly hard time receiving any visibility in Steam’s crazed daily churn of 20 to 30 new releases"

"Big names, or those that see instant sales, get promoted to the big boxes on the front page, but smaller games are relegated to a hidden list that just became a whole lot more hidden."

"(...) it definitely hasn’t listed any of the tiny little games I’ve cared about the most"

"Give small developers a fighting chance (...)"

How to easily find new releases on Steam

No offense, Liam, but if the problem doesn't affect you, don't assume it does not exist :)

What RPS editor meant is probably that the discoverability of small indie games with no dedicated marketing push is much lower now. And to be honest, I think that's true. It's about browsing the store in search of information, or having the same information visible straight on the main page. The thing is, before Steam started increasing the amount of games they accept to their store, the information about all new releases was accessible from the main page. Valve replaced it in favour of increasing the visibility of anything that sells right now. That surely is good for their business, but bad for small indiedevs that are being buried under tens of more popular games, and that's what the RPS article was about.
