Epic Games' new exclusive deal gives devs 100% for 6 months

If they wanted to compete with first/second-party exclusives, adding good features to their platform, and overall being more consumer-friendly; I wouldn't mind Epic so much.

However, third-party exclusivity is just all-around anti-consumer if you ask me. I'll never support it, especially when done so aggressively like Epic has done. It's literally the only thing they do to compete on EGS, restricting the PC games market rather than adding to it, and I absolutely can not support them at all for that.

Seems like there's no hope for BattlEye support within Steam Play

Titles like DayZ, Conan Exiles, PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS and many others are likely to never be playable on Linux with Steam Play.
I'm not sure about the others, but Conan Exiles allows you to play the game without BattleEye through an option shown before the game is launched. You won't be able to get on most servers(particularly the official ones), but single-player and co-op with friends will still be available

Can you hear that? It's the Steam sales train and it's arrived, also Steam Wishlist revamp

Now Valve, about the Steam Library and how it's really needing a revamp…
Agreed upon. In particular, I'd like to see filtering by tags/features as well as being able to list games in a random order.

i was told that was only my setup in the steam forums ( not surprising lol ).
That's pretty much because the issue doesn't affect everyone, and seems to vary by DE; I encountered the issue while using Cinnamon(and judging by other comments, this will also occur with GNOME), but everything is fine in KDE Plasma. Regardless, I'm pretty sure this is something that Valve needs to fix.

Linux marketshare on Steam dropped again in October, as China takes a massive chunk of the market

Huh, I guess that also explains all the spam in the Steam forums that are either in Chinese or the username is in Chinese and the only game owned for those accounts is PUBG.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work with multiple monitors for me(it closes after about a second of launching). I have to disable my secondary monitor to get it running.

The share of Linux users on Steam is still holding steady

Quoting: NanobangAs luck would have it, I recently switched back to Ubuntu Gnome. The very first time I logged into Steam on the fresh install and --- BANG!! Steam Survey!!

Dreams really do come true! :D
Meanwhile, after not getting the survey in a very long time, it pops up when I decide to install Steam in Wine. The hardware survey sure is a fickle thing.

Really? i will have to type configure, make install and find the dependences my self? in 2017?
No, it's all built for you. They do also have a .deb file [External Link], but I decided to link to the main tar file so everyone can enjoy it, not just debbers.
However, they haven't updated the AUR version of minecraft-launcher at all since the day after it was put up there.

Feral announce that Dawn of War III will use both OpenGL and Vulkan

Quoting: elbuglioneOpenGL??? WHY!!???
Well, they're porting to Mac OS as well, so they're kind of forced to develop for OpenGL there because Apple will not support Vulkan since they want to use their own API called Metal. Since they had to make the game work in OpenGL anyway, they probably just kept it in the Linux version for reasons such as compatibility and it's not really any more effort for them.

Parsec is another game streaming service, now with Linux support and it's blown me away

Call me a heathen, but I'd personally rather keep my Windows installation around than use a cloud-based steaming service for games. I'm not a big fan of them, although I could see why others would be. My personal preference is to run games on my own hardware above all else.

Besides, I've become so acclimated to 144Hz lately, I don't think I could go back to 60fps again for a fast-paced game such as Overwatch, along with the added network latency. But I definitely can see this type of service being more preferable to a casual gamer.
