Wuthering Waves arrives on Steam, another with anti-cheat problems on Steam Deck and Desktop Linux

Another one where it is not about anti-cheat, but about anti-modding. After all can't have modders devalue your m[ia]crotransactions.

Delta Force devs say Desktop Linux support is 'not part of our agenda in the future'

Should I care? According to the ratings it seems to be a pretty mediocre title.
As a game? You can decide for yourself. As a data point? Yes.

Now imagine how many flaws their Windows drivers have, unbelievable clown company.
Windows doesn't need security vulnerabilities. Microsoft built them into the OS.

Replicube is an open-ended programming puzzle game about making 3D voxels

It's an interesting concept for a puzzle game. But the demo did reveal a few issues that diminished things for me. The biggest problem revolves around using LUA as an interpreter. This is a full featured scripting language and without limitations solving these puzzles becomes fairly trivial. It also makes optimisation less fun since execution times and code size now become somewhat vague as there is no real info on how the lua code translates to either. Some things you can figure out by trial and error, but others times details seem to get lost in lua internals. I'd much rather have seen a more compact dedicated script to make it more of a puzzle game instead of work.

So not really for me, but at least it's cheap.

Discord CEO steps down, replaced with former Activision Blizzard CSO as they work towards being a public company

you mean from the browser?
Separate user account with very few permissions. Also my personal files/software/games are installed in places without "other" permissions. Access to the process list is restricted to processes by that "discord" user only, so it can't spy on what I'm running or playing. So basically a clean install is all it can see. I assume you can do similar things with flatpaks, but this setup has been running like this for a long time.

And the browser that it can start run on a temporary profile, so whatever links I click leaves nothing around after the browser is closed.

Has the bundle changed or is this a regional thing?
I see them, so must be a regional thing. I guess it could be blocked in Germany.

We'll see how this goes, but if it goes full on enshitification I wouldn't be surprised.

At least I've been running discord in full isolation on my system. It has no access to any of my files, it can't read the process list and it can't even see what games I have installed on Steam, so all that it got from me was what I typed into the client directly.

Maybe it's time to set up some bogus "servers" with nonsense conversation. Poisoning the well before they start training an AI on it.

Steam will soon list what accessibility features games support on store pages

Seems like they missed a very important one: key rebinding. Controller rebinding is also a thing, but at least Steam Input has that functionality covered.

Ubuntu 25.04 upgrades halted due to Kubuntu users getting a broken desktop

Is this sddm not finding the config file? I had something similar a while ago.
No. All KDE packages get uninstalled. Including the SDDM themes, so it has nothing to display.

It did it to me today. Easy fix if you know what you're doing, but that's probably not everyone.
