we need benchmarks comparing the performance on windows and linux...
Someone else will need to. I do not own a VR set, too expensive for me.
I wonder how you would actually do that. The best I know how to get is a frametime graph.

I had a zero byte update and an hour later 2.3 GB. Well, time to switch off proton!

Quoting: Para-Glidingin fact too many mechanisms of management I could not understand after 10h of game
When I see the amount of hours that people put into these types of games, it's safe to say that you're not supposed to understand everything in a "mere" 10 hours.

I've already given into "Play Next" and played (and finished) The Turing Test because it kept recommending it. Nice, if somewhat flawed, puzzle game.

Quoting: StraToNUhm... Please correct me if I'm wrong, but in French, saying that "something isn't going anywhere" means it's a lost cause. This didn't sound good to me at all when I first read it. Can you please confirm?
In English it means that it is here to stay. i.e. it will keep on being worked on. Nothing more nothing less.
It can also mean that Linux isn't improving. Which could be a reason to not put effort into the Linux version. Don't think that was the intention though. The wonderful inaccuracies of human languages. :D

Quoting: vipor29i can only imagine what the pc side of things will look like.the console is always lower res.
It's a 30 fps video. It also looks very artifacty to me. Honestly not impressed considering this is a demo video under completely controlled conditions.

This is one of those games that I've wanted to try, but the coop aspect has held me back. Seems like this would only be fun with a complete crew to play with. The look of the game seems to have improved massively though.

Get ready to be a viking in Valheim, Beta sign-ups are open

Game is looking pretty good. I'll skip the beta stuff and get it once it is somewhat further along.

Quoting: RoosterOn unrelated thought, this is another example of how devs going the Epic Shame Store way because of 70/30 split is horseshit. Itch.io does 100/0 and this dev doesn't even seem to take it into account when deciding to drop the itch.io version.
And how many have stuck with it? I don't think there is a single developer that didn't go to steam after their exclusivity period because what that 30% buys is a massive audience. Even Epic knows it which is why they still pay Apple and Google their 30%. Same thing applies to itch.io. They may get 100%, but they don't get a viable customer base with it.

Quoting: TheRiddickI wonder if RTX features can be mapped to Vulkan via proton someday, that would be VERY cool!
There is already a branch in one of the vkd3d repos that has some initial work for it.

Quoting: Comandante Ñoñardohmmm... Metro Exodus has Ray tracing on Windows 10... Maybe the Linux/Vulkan port will support it too.
One would assume that the port would be based on the Stadia version. And Stadia is based on AMD hardware which (as far as I know) doesn't even have initial support for the ray tracking extension. So not likely.
