DELTARUNE, the successor to UNDERTALE, unofficially ported to Linux

With the name being an anagram for Undertale one may assume it is closely related to it. Is it some sort of free coda to the game? The website isn't exactly filled with information.

Feral Interactive are asking you to send the game port suggestions again

I think the requestinator chewed on my Cyberpunk 2077 suggestion two years ago. So Feral should be working on that already. :P

As a choice that is not entirely outside the bounds of reason, I'd still like to see Vampyr.

Quoting: jardonWhy do so many people want ports of games that already work in proton? I mean I understand you all want native ports, but why not target games that dont already work in proton as to expand the Linux game catalog? I mean is it really worth getting hairworks to work in the Witcher 3 to request it?

I'm just interested in your perspective. This isnt meant to be hostile, but meant as an open, friendly discussion.
It's about the value you put on a game. This varies greatly from person to person and game to game. Take the much requested Skyrim for instance. Skyrim is from Bethesda, who is also responsible for blocking the Linux build of the lastest Doom. This makes me put a value of $0 on all Bethesda titles. That effectively means I refuse to spend money on it at all. If however, the would change their mind and have Feral port Skyrim, the value would increase by a lot because it's greatly beneficial to Linux gaming.

Most stuff is somewhere in between. However, I still value things that require Proton to run much lower than native games. Which means they might be at the back of queue forever.

This is how I see things. But others may do it differently.

Also, hairworks in The Witcher 3 works fine with DXVK.

NVIDIA released a new 415.13 beta driver recently for Linux

Quoting: PatolaHave they finally added stream output to this driver?
According to a post with the phoronix article, it contains the Vulkan Beta stuff up to 396.54.06, which means that transform feedback is still lacking.

The excellent theme park sim 'Parkitect' to leave Early Access November 29th with a campaign mode

Hats off to these devs. I've followed this game from well before there was a Linux version available and bought it the moment they put out a Linux build. And after all that time they appear to have done everything right. It probably helped that this was initially just a demonstration on a forum of how you could quickly put together some kind of coaster sim. When it was continued into an actual project it was a work of passion. Along the way their goals got bigger, listened to all the feedback, but never got beyond whatever they could manage. Pretty much a perfect execution of early access. I hope it does well, they deserve it.

So basically 2 decks of 54 cards and 120 cards in 10 packs with (at least) one rare card per pack. That's 228 cards with 20 heroes to start out with.

Now the big question is what this will bring you if you try to play this game seriously and want to get good at it. Technically the five gauntlet entry tickets could provide you with an infinite source of new entries and card packs if you are really good at the game. But what are the odds of that. This means that the "need" for rare cards and how the market will develop will be something to look at for this game. One good thing I noticed (from the little I understood of the game during the tournament) is that even the good/rare cards come with consequences, so it may not be all about getting those.

Since I haven't played anything like that since playing Magic The Gathering with actual physical cards a few decades ago, I'm inclined to at least jump in for the base package and see if I enjoy this.

Unreal Engine 4.21 is out, now defaults to the Vulkan API on Linux
8 Nov 2018 at 10:27 am UTC Likes: 1

Quoting: wleoncioMy follow-up question is: what could be the reasons why they haven't set Vulkan Desktop also as the default for Windows?
I'm no expect by any means, but watching from the sidelines I see that any non-DX11 renderer appears to have trouble keeping up. This suggests to me that their engine is heavily designed around DX11. So heavily that other backends yield sub par performance. If this is indeed the case, then their core engine may need massive changes to make it match better with the likes of Vulkan (and DX12). So it may be quite some time before anything can beat their DX11 support in performance.

Total Chaos is an impressive and scary total conversion for Doom 2 making it a survival horror experience

Calling this a "Total conversion for Doom 2" is a bit silly. There is not a single thing in this game that can be rendered by the original Doom 2 engine.
