Unreal Engine 4.21 is out, now defaults to the Vulkan API on Linux

Quoting: wleoncioMy follow-up question is: what could be the reasons why they haven't set Vulkan Desktop also as the default for Windows?
I'm no expect by any means, but watching from the sidelines I see that any non-DX11 renderer appears to have trouble keeping up. This suggests to me that their engine is heavily designed around DX11. So heavily that other backends yield sub par performance. If this is indeed the case, then their core engine may need massive changes to make it match better with the likes of Vulkan (and DX12). So it may be quite some time before anything can beat their DX11 support in performance.

Total Chaos is an impressive and scary total conversion for Doom 2 making it a survival horror experience

Calling this a "Total conversion for Doom 2" is a bit silly. There is not a single thing in this game that can be rendered by the original Doom 2 engine.

Of course this may also just be one side of the company not knowing what the other side is doing. Not an uncommon occurrence.

Using their own engine seems to be causing them a few issues. I remember way back when I bought this, it failed to start after an system upgrade. Apparently it didn't like a newer version of libc and getting it to load an older one took some tinkering. I don't think the cause was the same is the one listed above because it got fixed eventually, but it shows they've been doing some odd things in their engine.

No Brakes Games have discontinued Linux support for Human: Fall Flat

Quoting: MicromegasMaybe it's necessary to create a small section on this site where incidences like this are collected and listed and easy to find so that people can quickly check whether a developer ever dropped the support for his games? If there is a sales section there could also be a "commemoration" section for games and developers who "left" us.
A certain maintainer of a certain site might just be doing that. :D

Edit: Ugh. Too slow!

Edit 2: It's not properly linked in the wiki "Games lists" though.

Sounds to me like the game isn't finished yet and that the QA effort is too much for the Linux version. Even though the game is not in early access!

And as usual in this list, Oxygen Not Included is only -45% if you own other Klei games. If not, then it's -25%.

Wine 3.19 is out with improved 32bit .NET on 64bit and plenty of fixes

Quoting: GuestInstalling .NET redists on any Wine prefix is my worst nightmare right now. Out of like 50 attempts over the last month I succeeded twice.
And if it does, most things I tried don't really work well. Considering the install size of .NET, why did it ever become a thing? Who wants to deal with that.
