Verdun is yet another Unity title with broken fullscreen on Linux, here's a quick fix

Quoting: DisharmonicUnity should really get 1 Q&A employee to do at least some rudimentary testing on Linux. Some of the bugs that slip through really make me wonder if they test at all. It seems to me that they use the devs as beta testers.
They probably do. That's the problem. These issues don't happen to everyone. This particular problem never occurred on my machine.

What games do you want ported to Linux? Feral Interactive want to know again

I just noticed an interesting development. On the Feral radar "West Norwood" and "XCOM2 War of the Chosen" split into two dots. But "West Norwood" Linux was left in "Soon" while the rest, including the mac version, moved into "very soon".

I've seen people constantly ask Feral about porting BioShock Remastered to Linux previous to this, but each request is met with the usual "we have nothing to share" type of reply. Considering it's a popular pick, I hope they look into that one. I would certainly appreciate BioShock Remastered on Linux!
They say that about anything they haven't announced.

So far it seems Doom, Bioshock and The Witcher 3 are popular choices.
Doom won't happen of course. But since they are doing the Bioshock Remaster, it wouldn't seem too hard to do it for Linux. It has my vote! Although, since I already own all the Bioshock stuff, I'd have to buy something else to compensate.

Witcher 3 I'd like to have too. It could be possible if CDPR doesn't have some sort of deal with VP. Of course, I don't care who ports it!

Linux & Mac gamers have to wait a bit longer for the Norsca DLC for Total War: WARHAMMER
11 Aug 2017 at 1:53 pm UTC

Quoting: GuestIt's a bit odd. DLC like this is normally just data, as game logic is often scripted now in some high level language like Lua... this usually means there is no need to "port" DLC content. If it's on Steam, it could just be a depot misconfiguration, or a package grant issue.
Unless they do certain optimisations that requires data to be packaged differently. Easily checked if you have access to Windows. If not that, then only testing remains.

What have you been playing on Linux lately and what do you think?

Stasis- Still a few glitches remaining on the Linux build, but nothing that could keep me from finishing it. The atmosphere in this game is awesome!
Brutal Legend - A bit of an odd game. But if the music is your thing, just driving around doing nothing is pretty good already. :D
Deponia Doomsday - Must. Finish. Deponia!
The Long Dark - I've been playing the story mode. Initially I didn't really like it. But once it lets go of the leash, it feels much more like The Long Dark again. So far, partly into episode 2, the amount of story is not actually that big.

Looks like the RPG 'GOKEN' really will be coming to Linux, after user requests

Looks nice. Not too interested in playing it before it's content complete though.

Epic Games looking to make Vulkan the default API for Linux games in Unreal Engine

Quoting: GuestHLSL support means less work for porting games from DirectX?

They would generate Vulkan shader language using HLSL thus decreasing time required for porting. Or I got it wrong :)
They want a HLSL to SPIR-V compiler. IIRC, that is already being worked on by someone.

Epic Games looking to make Vulkan the default API for Linux games in Unreal Engine

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionAnd we were beginning to wonder if Epic had forsaken EU4 on Linux. But does this mean that all the current OpenGL issues (thinking of ARK, et al) will never get fixed?
They still released Fortnite last week with only Win+Mac support. Do they have Metal support for that or is the OpenGL support actually good enough?

ARK devs already said that OpenGL won't be fixed and that they will switch to Vulkan for that. In ARK time of course.

SimAirport, an airport design and management game is looking for Linux testers

Quoting: stretch611At least the good news is that they had overwhelming response.
An overwhelming response for a "free game". I'm not too sure everyone of the responders actually realise that testing is supposed to be more than just playing.
