Day of Infamy is an absolutely brutal first-person shooter you need to play

Could be that the group stuff and the game not staying as "playing" are related.

My guess would be a faulty startup script. I suppose that if it spawns another process and then immediately exits the script, that is could look to steam as an exit from the game. Should be an easy fix if that is the case.

So far, I haven't seen any crashes either. In fact, the only big problem that RL has, is its ability to demonstrate that I suck at skill games.

They do [External Link], but for some weird reason it is not linked from their own website.

Star Citizen to use Vulkan instead of DirectX 12 and drop DirectX 11 eventually

Quoting: EikeThere's still boxes in the shops - for way less than 75 Euros.
Back then it was much harder to get an update of a game out to people. So the games actually had to be finished. All that extra QA probably cost a few pennies as well.

I was looking at these a few weeks back. The price of the complete set was not compatible with my current lack of time to play.

With regards to Steam, this would be a perfect example of a case where having a separate entry for the Mac/Linux games would be acceptable.

Quoting: CorbenIf also Frontier Developments would switch to Vulkan with Elite: Dangerous... :)
They also support Mac (at list with Elite dangerous), which would be a bit of a problem.

AMD have announced Ryzen 5 will launch in April

Since they appear to have figured out why the Ryzen 7 performs relatively poorly on some games, the 4 core Ryzen 5 may actually be quite interesting for gaming. Especially if the clock can be upped a bit.

From the Steam reviews, it sounds like a game with the wrong difficulty for me. So I'll probably give this a miss. Maybe something for Samsai with his speedrunner finger. :P

Editorial: On paying for Linux games when you already have a Windows version
15 Mar 2017 at 11:23 am UTC Likes: 3

I think you missed one aspect of the problem. With some porters being paid from the platform sales, there is the whole issues of "windows keys" on separate key stores. The whole separation may simply be a result of not losing a large portion of their income to key resellers that won't register the intended platform.

There is one issue I'm not too happy about though. The sales price would generally be a split between the original developer (for the rights to the content) and the porter (for the work on the Linux port). If you already have the Windows version and you buy the Linux version again, you'd basically be paying more than just the port. Looking at that, it would probably be fair to add a "DLC" fee for the right to the port. I suppose it's too complex to bother with for a 4 Euro game.

For me it would never be a problem though either way, since I only buy Linux stuff anyway.

Was it actually confirmed to have a Linux version on day one?

I will be needing this though. I never played the original of this one.
