perhaps they will need a little persuasion to get developers to support the steamdeck, many possibilities here, ranging from extra exposure or a discount on the percentage valve takes on the sale of a game, etc.

perhaps it’s finally time for Valve to allow developers to officially list their games as supported via Proton for Linux-based platformsindeed, valve needs to put a special rating in place for games where the developer 100% supports & guarantees steamdeck playability! it should have been there from day one, i'm not sure why valve wanted to do this all by themselves, it is basically impossible with the amount of games that are on steam.

for running non-vr games on a vr headset, which has an ARM based cpu, i'm sure they can make it work. some games might lend them much more to be also played on a vr headset. just take any fps for example, and use steaminput to link mouse(look) to the directional data from the vr headset.

Can't they simply fork the last GPL licensed version? There are plenty of instances where software changes from GPL to something else (happens quite often in enterprise oss projects), most of the time, they get forked faster than you can read the news statement of the new license in use. I'm sure if there is interest in keeping DuckStation really open, it will happen.

Quoting: whizseIt was a bit overrated i felt. Then again, I skipped all the cut scenes and had the audio muted - maybe I missed something?yeah, you missed what made the game worth playing, the shooter action parts are not that special at all, the story is. completely marketed wrong. action junkies will wonder what all the fuss is about, and gamers that like a good story will skip it because it looks like an action game.

Pretty impressed on how well it runs on the steam deck actually, even though you'll have to set the gfx presets to low, it still look really great if you ask me!

MS will gladly make these changes, but probably violate them before those 10 years are up. EU will fine MS, but as usual the fine(s) will be peanuts and MS will be happy to pay.

As for the developers comment about people wanting things for free like Linux, I had an entire paragraph dedicated to debunking that but 99% of our readers know such a statement just isn’t true. It’s not worth any argument or time on, it’s silly and has been proven wrong time and time again.and yet there it is again as an argument, it's one of those prejudices linux users need to deal with, in the same line as - linux is all cli! linux is fragmented! linux community are rtfm a-holes! etc.
