I'm not super-familiar with all these games (none of them are stuff I'd be interested in), but aren't they all character-based action-oriented games? Come to think of it, for a streaming service, why don't they have any single player games that aren't action-oriented? Y'know, ones where the slightest input lag wouldn't destroy people's ability to enjoy it? Imagine playing a Civilization game where the fractions of a second of lag don't affect it too much, with the power of a server somewhere to calculate those interminable late-game AI turns. Or any of the many graphically-less-demanding puzzle-type games out there. Those would seem to be a much more natural fit than games where speed and reaction time matter. But I guess some suit at Google thought they wouldn't get the "hardcore" gamers if they didn't offer entirely AAA action games.

As I already use Chrome (and Chromium) I'm not going to be switching, but…interesting? I guess? Maybe it'll help people switching from Windows?

Quoting: pbAlso, don't know about cs:go, but tf2 keys are a common 'currency' in game trading. For example game X costs 1 tf2 key etc. Some steam forums are full of that.Yeah, I don't know about CS:GO as I don't play it, but from what I understand this happening to TF2 would pretty much drop the economy in its tracks. I guess we'll see what happens.

I don't mind the lack of a premade empire since I never use them anyway, and I'm busily trying to finish up a short campaign for an achievement at the moment, but I look forward to trying out the rockin' new features of this DLC. :D

Quoting: MisterPaytwickYep, I fixed it, but I was basing that part on the article because I didn't knew better.Yeah, the wording was definitely a big ambiguous. "Free to play [in honor of|because of] PDXCon!" would've been a lot clearer than "Free to play for PDXCon!"

I like the look of the Lithoids pack—I'd've been happy if it were merely cosmetic like the Plantoids pack, but it seems more like Synthetic Dawn with new mechanics attached. There's a screenshot of their traits with an interesting one highlighted that allows your pops to give off a tiny bit of Rare Gasses, which could make for an interesting playstyle. (Though I kinda hope that one isn't locked to Lithoids, it'd make sense as a more generally-available trait.)
Federations I'm less enthused about; we haven't really seen much in the way of teasers from the developer diaries yet so we don't really know much about what's in it. The Origins thing does sound cool (that was one of the things revealed), where they're taking some civics that you could only select at the start of a game and not switch away from (like Life Seeded) and making them into a new Origins system, where you get to pick an origin for your species. It sounds like they've expanded it out a bit beyond just the obvious civics that already exist, too. I'm excited to hear about the two mentioned there, Void Dwellers and Tree of Life. The new mega-structures also sound interesting, since I almost always end up building as many as I can. :)
I'm excited at the idea of a general diplomacy improvement (I hope they mimic the range of possible interactions available in EU IV, for instance), but I'll have to see what it entails before getting too excited at the specifics. Like I suspect a lot of people, I've never found federations particularly fun in Stellaris, but if they can turn that around I'm definitely interested.
