Defenders Quest Getting A Big Update, Removes The Need For Adobe Air

Oh, well. At least I can now play it; this is a 32-bit (gasp) processor, and AIR installed without a burp. I had headaches playing it on a 64-bit system.

Grrrr.:><: I just now downloaded PQ on my laptop and it (wait for it) installed AIR:><:.

Perhaps GOL was misinformed? At least (this time) AIR installed without complaining that gnome-keyring wasn't installed...thanks for small favors...

Steam's Second Linux Birthday Is Today

I remember when almost all the Linux games on Steam were games that had also been Humble Bundle games. In February 2013, when Crusader Kings 2 came out, I was in heaven; a major publisher was supporting our OS! Then later that year, Europa Universalis came out for all three platforms!

Finally, we saw some respect. And the present and the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades!

No Air? It's about time that games stopped using something that Adobe abandoned quite some time ago.

I am about as good at playing PA as I have been at competitive Starcraft; in other words, I suck badly:'(, but the game is big fun to play until another player or the AI obliterates me. It is certainly fast-paced and gorgeous-looking, and I don't regret having contributed to the Kickstarter campaign one bit^_^.

WELCOME BACK, Liam!:woot:

I'm certainly hoping that the sound works now; the other Aurora games I purchased from GOG.com (BG 1+2,P:T) had no sound on the Linux versions when I tried them.

This is from Steam, of course...

What do you mean?

I'm never heard there was any issues with sound in PA on any platform.
It's using FMOD so it's can work with any audio server without a problem.
Oops. In PA the sound works fine. I thought this was the Icewind Dale Enhanced thread:'(.

The Dark Descent of Frictional Games: Part One

Thanks to Frictional, one genre Linux gamers have had for quite some time, and is well-represented, is first-person horror, and the games have been pretty freaking scary as well.

Excellent article. Saved to my Documents folder.
