Well, Feral did port Borderlands 2 to the Mac, and also Bioshock:Infinite. I'm still hopeful.
This is good news, about the new Borderlands, of course. I already said bye bye Windows.

A I Kickstarted several games, and so far have gotten Akaniero:Demon Hunters (fun for a while), and War For The Overworld (which is stillin beta...), Planet Explorers, Planetary Annihilation (in gamma!), and the original Wasteland. Waiting for Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, and, also from the same people as PoE, Torment:Tides of Numenaria, which is the one I'm really waiting for.
in the meantime, CIV V and X-COM, Desktop Dungeons, Dominions 4, Garry's Mod, Goat Simulator, and, yes, Portal are keping me happy and busy until the others are released.
And to think I called 2013 The Year Of Linux gaming. It looks like 2015 will be when the floodgates open.

This is interesting, and, yes, wine performance is variable. I've been pretty impressed with PlayOnLinux, and if they can do what they claim that they can do, the bottom line is that more (older) games can be playable on Linux, which is already enough of a gaming platform that I deleted my Windows partition and don't miss it.

Inasmuch as .deb files are archives, and can be extracted with the contained directories intact, and considering that some non-Debian distros include dpkg, it is possible to install Steam on just about any distro, as proven by happy Slackware customers

My favorites this year? Lovely to have Linux support (even though there were complaints) for The Witcher 2, and I jumped up and down over CIV V and X-COM's native releases.
Besides that, Don't Starve, Planetary Annihilation. Space Hulk, Adventurenator: When Pigs Fly,

1.1% of Steam users is still a very large number of people, which is why devs have been eager to tap this (small, but enthusiastic) market. It's few devs who regret having released games for Linux, and Gabe Newell is still pushing hard for SteamOS games (which, from all comments, run on just about every distribution: Debian and all its derivatives, Fedora and its, Arch and its, and even Slackware.

I have enjoyably been seeing new games popping up from time to time for about a year and a half in my Steam library. I can wait for them to arrive; it's not like I don't have other games to pley.

As an old fan of AOW, this is wonderful news. I am a die-hard turn-based strategy gamer (although I certainly play other genres) and it's SO good to have more than the excellent Battle for Wesnoth to play!

Ah, the days of gaming on an Amiga; the last time I had FUN with a computer until I finally got smart and installed Ubuntu 8.04. Suddenly, using a computer was FUN again.
No, at the time, there weren't too many games. There was Neverwinter Nights, for which I was grateful. I discovered Crossover and wine, and was able to play GOG.com games. Then the Humble Bundles started. Then STEAM, the best thing to happen to our OS since, well, it was developed.
Actually, Bik looks more like a C=64 game than an Amiga one; Amiga game developers tried pretty hard to take advantage of the system's graphics capabilities, and were mostly successful.
