Space Pirates and Zombies Now On GOG DRM Free For Linux
31 Jul 2014 at 7:09 pm UTC

Truth be told, some of their games are Linux-compatible for the first time. And I'm not only talking about Wine-bottled ones like FlatOut: CLARC [External Link] for instance is native and it had never been available on Linux before.

PS: I bought it. :P

War in a Box: Paper Tanks Released On Steam For Linux
6 Jul 2014 at 2:36 pm UTC

Quoting: GuestIs the Linux version available outside Steam? Desura doesn't show it as available (at least for me).
You're right. As it seems [External Link] it's only been available at the Ubuntu Software Center, so no wonder there hasn't been much appreciation for it.

Earth 2140 Gold Edition Now Supports High Resolutions
3 Jun 2014 at 4:51 pm UTC

Quoting: nonoWhy do you wait for Steam Version while you can DRM free version on Desura ? Do you like DRM?
No, please! Don't sparkle that debate yet again! :P

Although I don't understand that attitude either (specially with regards to a game with no multiplayer). If you want to play it, why can't you do it outside of Steam?

The Funding Crowd 33 (May 13th - June 1st)

Quoting: GuestI did leave a comment asking for the platforms, but I’m not sure if it went through because I landed on a login/register page after sending it. Anyway, can’t find any mention of any platform or engine or tool anywhere. Too bad… :-/
Nope, you need to be logged in for the message to be sent. That's why I cannot do it myself, for the reasons explained earlier. :(

Quoting: SpeedsterHm... that may have been jumping to a conclusion based on it being developed in Unity. Is there any way to contact the project creators like the "contact me" link on kickstarter...
There's no such direct way of contacting the creators on Indiegogo campaigns. What I always do is post a comment [External Link] that, if you're not a backer, will remain private and only the creators will be able to see it. 99% of the time they notice it and answer, either with a public comment or with a personal email.

EDIT: I would do it myself, but I can't since my Indiegogo account got "restricted" (whatever that means) and any attempt to contact their support has been fruitless. :><:

Paranautical Activity FPS Big New Release, Comes With Issues
3 Jun 2014 at 8:48 am UTC

I have the same Godzilla issue on Ubuntu 12.10 (@1080p), so I guess it's not a distro-specific problem. I wonder if it happens the same on Windows, though...

Major Trine Update Should Be Released In The Next Few Months
3 Jun 2014 at 8:40 am UTC

Quoting: pbThanks for that info! I loved Lost Vikings and also played the sequel in DosBox. Now I really can't wait to play Trine. ;-)
Wait, what?! Is there a sequel to The Lost Vikings? I'll have to find it and play the hell out of it, then! :woot:

New Release: Super Splatters, A Liquid Physics Puzzle Game Now Available On Linux
31 May 2014 at 1:46 pm UTC

It's also available at the Humble Store which seems to include a DRM-free version, but don't get fooled as I did! There are only DRM-free versions for Windows and Mac, not for Linux! I contacted the HB support team to no avail until now (I should've gone straight to the developers, I guess...)

Humble Bundle PC & Android 10 Unleashed With New Linux Games
27 May 2014 at 7:35 pm UTC

Quoting: WorMzyStill waiting on Giana Sisters from the last bundle.. :/
To be fair, they just said the port would be ready "later this year" and we still are 5/12 into it. :P I guess they didn't want another Vessel affair.

Quoting: WorMzyAre these all confirmed as being Linux-compatible? Or are there more developers that don't want our money?
I'm still downloading Breach & Clear, but I can say the rest work fine... with the exception of Skulls of the Shogun: at the end of the installation process it complains about not being able to "install the desktop menu item" and then proceeds to revert everything. If you keep the installer open and don't let it finish, you can actually play the game, but it's annoying as hell... :><:
