Psyonix, creator of Rocket League is joining Epic Games (updated)

Quoting: einherjarI really don't understand, why Valve doesn't fight back?
It might be that they initially felt like Epic wouldn't last and didn't warrant any action on their part, and by now they might be reconsidering.

Or maybe they have been working on something, but in Valve Time... Until that's revealed, they still have the best platform by far anyway from the gamers' perspective; they just need to stop losing publishers.

Guess I won't be buying that DLC after all, then... More money for Aspyr when they finish patching Borderlands.

Quoting: subHey Liam, thanks for this service!

Would you mind linking to the most relevant GOL article of the individual games if it's not too much work?

(Ofc) They are sometimes very helpful with the replies from the community.
Be it to encourage a buy or staying (far) away with the current hardware configuration.
Perhaps, although it might make things confusing when my aim is just to get people right to the games rather than do in-website links like other sites often do. Will think on how to best do it, might not always make sense either when previous articles don't have anything important to know.
Just a random suggestion since it's not a feature I'm personally interested in, but maybe you could take a page from Wikipedia's "see also" article sections. Or if you would rather avoid an additional section, maybe add a superscript [GOL] link next to each title, e.g. Darkest Dungeons⁽ᴳᴼᴸ⁾ [External Link].
(Yeah I had to cheat a bit for the example.)

Nowhere Prophet, a roguelike deck-building game is releasing with Linux support this Summer

I must say that after coming across the 7DRL challenge game Forward [External Link] last week, the idea of a card-based rogue-like sounds attractive, especially if there is some story to it. But I'm pretty cheap when it comes to rogue-likes since I don't feel an incentive to beat them more than once, so I'll have to see the price point first.

Aspyr Media confirm the free "Ultra HD" DLC for Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel is coming to Linux

Quoting: witikoInstead of thanking Aspyr Media, they should be rebuked.
Ah yes, that worked really well with the Witcher. If anything, I'd blame the publishers for not giving Aspyr enough time and/or forewarning to prepare the ports for a simultaneous release of the update.

Roguelike fantasy-adventure Vambrace: Cold Soul delayed until May

Interesting! I'm interested to see what kind of lore comes up in a game whose setting has been 19 years in the making :)

And it's always good to see devs take the time to make a good first impression at release.

Yeah, I'm still playing through the pre-sequel, but to me it feels like a natural continuation to the second game. Very similar interface and mechanics overall, same style, and while the low-gravity stuff is a pretty big change, it's rarely something that detracts from the experience IMO. In fact, I really enjoy the ability to traverse environments vertically more easily and to have it as another option to get out of a tight spot. That first boss fight does suck, but if you do the side missions first you get a decent sniper that you can use to take him down pretty quickly without having to chase him around.

Quoting: ShmerlFeel free to comment in that thread. It's surprising how many DRM proponents are commenting there. I suspect most of them aren't sincere users, but represent the pro-DRM side of publishers.
Probably, because I can't understand why any gamer wants to promote DRM gaming.
A false sense that they are protecting an industry they care about, probably.

Open source Morrowind game engine OpenMW has a new release up

Quoting: SalvatosBut can you copy the installed files and move them to other systems and across OS upgrades or would you need to use the installer every time?
Of course you can. OS upgrades only affect openmw, which you can reinstall/recompile. All it needs from the original game is the data, which should be safe as long as you don't wipe your partitions or make a backup of it.
Cool, I wasn't sure whether the Bethesda launcher controlled game launch or was just a frontend for game downloads. Gonna try it out.

Edit: Ugh, need to install DXVK to get the launcher to work. Can't be bothered right now.
