Manjaro needs testers for the upcoming Manjaro GNOME 20.0 release - Snap and Flatpak support OOTB

Gnome is the default in Ubuntu, Fedora, Pop_OS. Those are some distros people try when coming to Linux. And what do they find arriving on discussions, hopes up just to have found Linux: bashing of this and bashing of that and how Gnome makes some "puke". C'mon.
There was a Destination Linux episode (can't remember which) where Noah talked of this same issue spot on. Maybe it's better to not state anything if the only thing coming to mind from some certain DE for instance is some negative slur.
Here in Germany Linux has about 4% user count nowadays! (according to statcounter) ^_^

Quoting: rat2000Yea, it really makes no sense. Why some people can't JUST USE things they find best for themselves, and leave those that wasn't "a match", be. Gnome is the only DE which works as well on desktop and mobile. No tweaking required.Quoting: heidi.wengerBut it is cool to bash on Gnome, all the kids are doing it :D ... or so I think the people who bash Gnome think. Personaly I used xfce, budgie, unity, I still like Gnome betterQuoting: pete910Why do you attack against Gnome with such passion? So many new Linux users love it, and in my experience it is the best Linux desktop for tablet.Quoting: PublicNuisanceI love Manjaro but not enough to use Gnome ;)Gnome
This Gnome-bashing does no service to Linux in all and should just stop :O

Thanks but if only this could be easier... the scale of those instructions for a simple thing once again make me dizzy :dizzy:
Could it be possible to integrate somehow, someday to Lutris?
I suppose a snap or a flatpak solution wouldn't be of help here?

Linux gaming overlay MangoHud and the GOverlay app for managing it both have new releases up

I'm confused about this, trying to get it running by installing through AUR, i put in "yay mangohud" and got many packages listed. I choose: "1 aur/mangohud 0.3.1-1 (+16 10.06%)
A Vulkan overlay layer for monitoring FPS, temperatures, CPU/GPU load and more"
Is that the right one?
What about this query: "==> Remove make dependencies after install? [y/N]" -what should i answer to that?
On Github there it says to "install mangohud AND lib32-mangohud". Do one need to install BOTH even though a 64-bit system? Or what does that concern?
Will there be a flatpak or a snap for this later on..? (simple install for all)
Danke

Quoting: AsciiWolfIt is also available [External Link] on Flathub. :-)Very good! It would be important to also have a snap package for it. More and more new ppl are looking towards Linux. For those opposing these: you can choose not to use flatpak or snaps. No one is taking away your freedom of buildin from the source or adding PPA's :)

Quoting: segraVery nice for you to join the convo here!! I bet many wish for a flatpak or a snap package for Open Fodder <3Quoting: heidi.wengerHi :)Quoting: chrSomeone with the skills (or time and motivation to acquire the skills in the process) should just go and add an appimage/flatpak/snap build script for them. So the other devs have very little maintenance to do.I was about to email them about this (and maybe even join the convo here!) but there's no contact towards the author to be found? https://github.com/segrax [External Link]
Just came across this post thanks to the Twitter hashtag #openfodder
Open Fodder has an official discord over here: https://discord.gg/4mX2wFM [External Link], we do try to monitor it daily, but at worst it might be a couple of days before a reply.
You could also @ me on twitter (@segrax [External Link]
Quoting: heidi.wengerGreat! Maybe inform also the developers when and if you get it going :)Please do!
There is a few instances of us stumbling across different ports which could of been brought into the main repository, or bug complaints which could of easily been fixed, but the issue was never raised and just mentioned on a random forum
So should i raise an issue on Github or something? I have not much used Github and its not familiar with me.
