Half-Life 2, EP1, EP2 and Lost Coast hit Linux!

Oh man, native Linux games overdose! First Portal then L4D2, then Double Fine now the entire Half Life 2 franchise. I've got a lot of gaming to do (not that I'm complaining) :D

No bugs thus far, but fps is rather poor for my system. Without V-sync, at 1080p it only reaches 150fps. It is a Beta though, and 150fps is pretty darn nice so it's all good.

On easy? Really?
Hahaha, I play games to enjoy them. I know for some, fun = challenging. For me, it's just mucking about and learning the story :)

Played a little and no problems on Ubuntu 13.04 x86_64 with an HD6950 and catalyst 13.4
Thanks for the info mate, a HD6950 damn nice man :D

Woohoo! Brutal Legend works amazingly! I was sad when Costume Quest wouldn't run, but man Brutal Legend makes up for it. Never played it before, so this was a new experience. It's a really well done port so far. Check it out running in Ubuntu 13.04 on my machine:

First part of the video is fullscreen, second part around 29:20 is windowed-mode. I haven't tried my 360 controller yet, just been playing with my keyboard & mouse. Just be warned, I enjoy the game so much I didn't notice how much time I spent recording it. It's an hour long video...
P.S: Is it true AMD graphics users are having problems with it?

Brutal Legend doesn't have a Linux binary on Steam yet, and Costume Quest on Steam doesn't work for me (black screen). Hope they fix that soon. With how the Cave hasn't been updated, I fear the worst but hope for the best.

Left 4 Dead 2 available for Linux in beta form!

First off, how did you manage to screen video record, Second, How do you enable/disable raw mouse?
First, to screen record I use something called vokoscreen and set it to Codec: mpeg4 with Format:mkv.

Secondly, to enable/disable raw mouse input, go into Options -> Keyboard & Mouse (inside L4D2). Then you'll see it called Raw Mouse Input. To the right of it is the selection for enabled/disabled. Hope that helps :)

Wow, this one looks really good. It'll really come down to whether the A.I. is competent or not, for me to decide if it'll be an awesome purchase or just an ok one.

Definitely like the cartoonish bright colors look. No idea why, but my mind finds games that are colorful in nature with good game mechanics to be really fun :)

That huge creature in their video reminds me of Scribblenauts gameplay. It'd be cool if we could summon stuff like that.

Sexy! Been playing it like mad :D
There is a bit of a mouse issue every once and a while, but enabling/disabling Raw Mouse Input generally fixes it for me. Pretty solid for a Beta thus far. Hope you don't mind me sharing my video Liam :)

In the video I enable net_graph 1, so you can see the fps I'm getting at all times. It's ok, but does spike a lot depending on the action. Everything running at maxed graphics at 1080, if only my screen recorder would be more dependable. Thanks for the heads up btw, I only discovered I had L4D2 Beta thanks to this article :D

Portal 1 is now in Beta for Linux woohoo!
4 May 2013 at 4:00 am UTC

Woot! Portal finally. Thankfully I haven't finished Portal 2 yet, so I can't wait for that to come out. That and CS GO :P For a Beta, Portal works mighty fine on my system. FPS does drop though when I open the portals and look into them.

The game's being done in Unity
Once again, a big thanks to the guys over at Unity! Too bad with all these kickstarters, we aren't seeing anyone use a Unigine + Linux combo.
