Some thoughts on the new strategy game Sudden Strike 4

Looks like a good game.

I think GOG decision is a right one. If GOG is not developing a Linux client too ( which seems like they're not ) , developers shouldn't be forced to do extra work because absence of Linux client.

MXGP3 - Motocross is coming to Linux from Virtual Programming, plus something strange happened

Quoting: Keyrock[off-topic]Speaking of PUBG, I'd give my right arm to have that game on Linux.[/off-topic]
Developers of it clearly stated they're not planning Linux and MacOS versions on the Linux request thread in their Steam forum , which had 50+pages and they locked the thread.

It is on Steam , what are you talking about?

Linux game sales statistics from multiple developers, part 5

Quoting: ShmerlNice. As you can see, it's way higher than so called Steam survey, which only highlights, that the later is pretty useless. It all depends on the game, and I'd say on developers and their engagement with Linux community. I'd be also interested in some numbers from inXile and Obsidian, who like Beamdog release cross platform from day one.

Also, I'm somewhat surprised that MacOS sales stay high, despite bitrot of the system, and Apple basically abandoning their own desktop.
MacOS sales are staying high because most of the people are thinking having an Apple branded system is a privelege. So suddenly MacOS being a status sign for them and that is keeping them on the ecosystem : Ego.

Also note that , Apple ecosystem makes people much more binded to their platform. Purchase history made them tied with Apple Market.

On the other hand , Linux is replaceable and there is nothing to lose if you abandon Linux.

If you abandon Windows , you will lose games. If you abandon MacOS you will lose that feeling of being special.

I know what you're getting at, but the tricky part is "AAA". If you changed "AAA" to "quality" games, I'd agree with you wholeheartedly.

But "AAA" is such an ambiguous term. Is Ballistic Overkill AAA? I think so, but it's not even in the same league as Paladins in terms of player-base, let alone something truly gigantic like Overwatch. What about Insurgency? Or Albion Online? Do we still think Full Throttle is AAA? Does "AAA" time out, somehow?

So as long as some/many quality titles are available, it's an acceptable sacrifice (to me) that not all quality titles are available.
By AAA i mean ; Doom 2016 , Wolfenstein 2 , Witcher 3 , Skyrim , Fallout 4 , Battlefield 1 , Overwatch etc.

Yes ; you can say quality games which mostly has their own , unique engines and even support of common Api s like Vulkan yet they don't have Linux versions. These are most desired games by gamers and lot of people are playing them opposite of indie 2d scrolling games.

Nvidia is one of the reasons why OpenGL turns into a horror show.

They've added so many extensions to it for their cards.

Site Update: New GPU Model database for our user PC info & statistics system

Quoting: GuestFor anyone not sure about what model GPU they're running, something like the following may help:

lspci | grep VGA

(that assumes you have lspci available of course)
GLX can also query information:

glxinfo | grep Device

There are other ways as well, depending on the distro used. I'm not really up to speed on all the graphical tools available, so I encourage people to suggest alternatives.
Hmm. Not so useful in my case (Neon/Ubuntu 16.04). For "lspci | grep VGA" I get:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 1c82 (rev a1)

...which probably doesn't help for this survey. For glxinfo I get nothing. In the Nvidia control panel, it tells me the card model on the "XScreen 0" tab. Your instructions may be more revealing for people running Mesa?

(I knew my card, but wanted work it out from scratch like you suggested).
Probably you are using a laptop with switchable graphics? Intel Hd and Nvidia

If you didn't set Bumblebee or Nvidia Prime probably that's why you can't see your gpu

It seems like it's not much to you , because your currency is much more valuable than theirs.

Even one US dollar is equal to 1.000.000 of local currency at some African countries.

That difference cause the very same reason why Iphone's or most of the electronic devices are manufactered on Asia : cheap man power
