Quoting: ShmerlI think they simply don't have Linux developers.

I think Ethan Lee and others are looking for new jobs. Just saying.

Feral no longer porting A Total War Saga: TROY to Linux, citing less demand since Proton

Quoting: vipor29i know some want ports and those will never go away from the indie developers but when it comes to the AAA stuff we can usually run those titles anyway. with anti cheat being worked on it will get even better so this is not all doom and gloom.

I remember a statement by the DXVK developer that games with a lot of different shaders (I think it was Tomb Raider) are difficult for DXVK. See:

Has anything changed in this regard? After all, it's these games that will push the Steam Deck to its limits. I'm hoping more that with the Steam Deck and Proton the Gordian knot will now be cut. And that there will be many more ports for Linux in the future. Preferably day one releases.

It's not just about the renderers, but ultimately also about the middleware, which is still different under Linux. It also reduces dependencies. Of course, they have to be high-quality ports. But that is precisely what Ferral is known for.

Good read. Linux connects people. In many respects.

Sad to here this from Ethan. This is called precarious employment. These contracts are favourable for Valve. It's a hire and fire philosophy. Even without having to fire anyone. I don't think it's okay.

Everyone needs a certain amount of planning security. You have to be able to look around for something new without worrying. I also don't know if Linux is really so far that you should let all the know-how go. How many people are there who know so much about Ethan's field? Sound problems are the nastiest in gaming. Something the brain can't block out. Makes a game basically unplayable.

Why wouldn't they make this public?

There should be quite a bit of Vave IP in there. But if it benefits them or doesn't hurt them, they will certainly publish.

Quoting: CatKillerSo it is Van Gogh - Zen 2 and RDNA 2 - and it does have 16 GB RAM. It's not quite as big as I was hoping for, but I guess it couldn't hit the right performance target for 1080p.

It has a 1280 x 800px display (16:10). See:

But, of course, there's still the dock.

The development release Wine 6.11 is out now, pulls in patch to help Roblox work on Linux

It would be extremely cool if you could try and show Roblox sometime. The kids are always asking about it, but I haven't had time to deal with it yet.

But don't feel obligated to do anything. I would have understanding for that.

EDIT: Still quite a few caveats ...
