GTA5 works again, very cool. Had to create a new prefix and kill the launcher on the first run, but then everything went smooth after copying my old save games.
These launchers are such a mess ...

Looks like Valve could be set to launch something called Steam Cloud Gaming

Yes, as far as I know. Stadia SDK requires native Vulkan port.
Do you have any source for that? Would be interesting to know what the exact requirements are for using the Stadia SDK.

Usage of we is fine here, that's the majority of Linux users, so for sure more than one. And I don't agree that Linux community has to downplay open source values, just because some don't share them. Quite on the contrary actually.
Sorry, but no interest in having this discussion.

On-topic: This indeed seems just a logical move. I'm glad to be the beta tester of the techniques used to build this service :)

Quoting: GuestWe use Linux because it's better and not Microsoft's BS and we can control open source software. We download and play games and control them ourselves instead of submitting ourselves to Microsoft's, Google's, and now Valve's "cloud" BS.

NVIDIA have released the big new Linux Beta driver 440.26 today

Quoting: EikeAnd for me, it works very well on Linux, too.
Same here. Of course the driver has severe issues (troubleshooting, wayland, prime etc), but neither is the situation perfect with AMD (hardware support at release time, need of bleeding edge kernel/mesa etc). Both approaches have their pro's and con's.

My initial point was mostly that there is really no need to declare people as being stupid for using nvidia (or AMD for that matter). I'm glad that people here are still mostly civilized, reading some of the extreme positions of the supporting groups at Reddit can be really depressing, e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/djm7o5/i_am_one_of_the_few_who_dont_mind_nvidias_binary/ [External Link]

I think he still can, due to it still being a blob ;) I don't see any change in their attitude in this regard.
Well at least it's a working blob, unlike the current AMD's open source driver...
It is best to ignore posts from @shmerl about NVidia ;)
