Quoting: Quote from n30p1r4t3I loved Warmux! But as I know it, Worms was just the original.
I know which came first, my question related to whether or not the worms title in the Bundle offered any real advantage over the free software ones.
That's what I meant. As in not really.

TopWare Interactive Give More Details About Two Worlds 2 & Other Games

Quoting: Quote from OrkultusOnly issue i have had with wine, is that yeah i can get a game working decently, but then the next time wine updates, the game breaks and i either cant get it working after that, or i have to down grade or figure out how to get it to work again.
I believe they will ship in "bottles" or packages that feature one version of WINE that is only used by the game and is thus unable to update/break. This allows the game developer to control what version of WINE their games runs on.

Left 4 Dead 2 Gets Some Essential Linux Fixes
12 Oct 2013 at 1:47 pm UTC

I wonder if they fixed having to pause the game and then un pause it just to use the mouse. Otherwise, I can still see the cursor and can only move my POV like 20% of the normal distance.

Quoting: Quote from n30p1r4t3This is where things start to get vague (not soecifically talking about this article). If a company says they'll support Linux, but really only mean the streaming through SteamOS, that's really not the same thing. I think the biggest problem with SteamOS is that it doesn't exist yet (public, beta, etc), so a company can't really define what it means to support it natively (I.e Linux as well).

I think the biggest problem is this saying:

Every game works on SteamOS, but not every game on SteamOs works on Linux. This is kind of like "Every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square."
SteamOS it does not exist yet, it shouldnt really a problem I think everyone is aware that it will be based of Ubuntu, so the devs can just aim to make their game work with Ubuntu. Fragmentation in general how always been a source of concern from devs how to supports all of these distros? I think if steamOS becomes the standard for gaming on linux it will be better for everyone.

I think its clear that valve is aiming for native software coming to Linux otherwise why bother doing all of this work with the drivers, debugging etc, if it was just about a small box for streaming.
I agree with you. But I'm not talking about valve games.

GOL Cast: Creating a Powerful Empire in 0 A.D.
8 Oct 2013 at 7:18 pm UTC

You should know by now, that 0 A.D. project is running an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funds for finishing the game faster. At the time of writing this, they have 13 days left and have raised $23k out of their $160k goal, so it looks a little dim for the fundraiser, but I am still hoping for a big push on these last few days.
It's flexible funding, so they get the money regardless of making their goal. I think they themselves knew they'd never hit 160K, so they set the bar high.

Name another Open Source game in this condition with ~30k cash flow. The results will be amazing in my opinion.

Red Orchestra 2 And Tripwire's Future Titles To Come To Linux

Quoting: Quote from QydfacThere port of KF is horrific (nvidia texture bugs and low fps)

I'm worried.
I don't suffer from any of these issues (Gtx 680). Can you please show me?
Are you sure, have you seen how its supposed to look? I have 3 different nvidia computers with different cards and they all suffer from the corruptions only in Linux. Essentially the flashlight is useless, it creates a square of broken textures that obstructs the view making dark levels impossible to play. Also the map where you start out outside with the broken cars, there are no textures everything is grey [External Link], there are no floors in most inside maps, just grey [External Link]. Invisible monsters look like they are made of mercury like the silver surfer [External Link]. Sometimes the knife is invisible [External Link]. Glass doesnt always work [External Link]. The sight on the crossbow is black and doesnt work at all, making the weapon useless [External Link]. There are many threads about the problem and icculus said he was working on it since last November but the problem remains. The game is barely playable because of it, really wish they would fix it. I could show you more but I think that’s enough.
I've played on Windows and Linux (not extensively). I will reinstall tonight if I have time, and will post my findings.
