Quoting: drmothPeople can whine about Snaps (yes I'm not a huge fan of them but there are far worse things) but this is overall a very good thing. I hope they find someone talented who can make a difference.
And for the record i've not had problems with snaps. They make programs run secure in a sandbox and have all needed whatever version of distro you might have. If a Firefox snap at the moment launches slowly, bah, it will be fixed.

People love to complain and critisize much without helping the issue they complain about at all

Quoting: EikeHappy you saw this one! I asked for the port and tested it - works flawlessly.

You need to have your expectations set properly for the game: You're not going to save the world. No dragons, no princesses. You just need to grab your pants and get off to work. Cause... what could possibly go wrong?!? ;)
It's a nice little one.
This type of cooperation and work to get a Linux port is a way to go. Thank you very much then!

Valve upgrades Remote Play for Linux in the latest Steam Client Beta

Quoting: elmapul" enabled by launching Steam with -pipewire-dmabuf"
its so hard to put an graphical setting to turn this config on?
an checkbox...
Mind boggling indeed in this day and age  why do they not think of these the very first thing. "-pipewire-dmabuf" to start with appears to a common computer user i don't know what. A hacking spell that might break something

Installing vanilla Arch nowadays is even more BS than it used to be as Linux has gotten more known. Arch proposers filling the forums with their btw's  Linux has gotten more and more popular and there is a legion of users who refuse to touch the "bloody command line". Why can't Arch devs just let their brain blocks go and put in a PROPER damn installer?

Solus and elementary OS are examples of those which do not need opening of terminal no more, and they even encourage NOT to. Terminal is even not there right away to be found! It's the current year and stuff. So many now don't care whether or not "terminal is a handy tool". They just wanna sit down, click through things and enjoy!

And i don't blame them. Life can be short

Quoting: dziadulewiczNow all common users need is a snap or a flatpak to install right from a software center of a distro
Well its in aur and chaotic aur, and manjaros official repo, so 50% of distros or so its already there without having to resort to a crappy snap or flatpak.
These kinds of comments are not nice nor constructive. Snaps and or flatpaks have given help to so many new comers on moving to Linux.

Quoting: LinuxerHow to donate to Luxtorpeda developer? And i wish there could be a simple flatpak and or snap for it
I maintain the luxtorpeda-dev fork. I don't have any way to do donations, but steam gifts always help for adding the new engines if there's any interest. The ones at https://github.com/luxtorpeda-dev/packages/issues [External Link] with "need game" are ones that I don't own that would go forward if I did.

I normally buy the games out of pocket (when there's good sales and the like), although have had some great people donate a few games which helped alot.

I'm not too familiar with flatpak or snap but I believe someone was trying or did add support for flatpak. I might look into it myself at some point, although the install process is pretty simple.
Yes!!! Thanks alot for your reply!! I'm one of those clickety click guys and the terminal just makes me nauseous  (and my friends, they're mainly Mac and Win people but give Linux a chance once in while and scream in joy always when things are simple clickclicks!) :woot:
